Does Martinez's team think we're stupid?

I read on the scene that his team said they will not allow him to fight at 168 at all and that he's too small. Then they went on to talk bout how small he was and how he's smaller than all his opponents and even said he weighed as much as Ortiz did in the dressing room.

Do they think we're dumb or something? This guy just weighed 170 plus pounds for his fight in March and he looked a lot better in that fight which makes me believe the added weight helped him. We know he's been cutting weight gradually so he can get down to fight Pac/Floyd.

This **** is just like Berto going on a diet for a few months and then claiming he's too small to fight at LightMiddleweight

Yes, they do. They look for stupid people who don't pay attention to their past statements. Martinez team is a walking contradiction.

Anyone could see Martinez IS small for a MW and would be WAAY smaller at 168.

If he can cut weight down closer to Pac or Floyd for a potential fight, why is that a problem?
    :huh

BTW, the jump from 160 to 168 IS a difficult jump. How many MW champs can you name that have moved up successfuly vs. the top guys? I know there are a few, but if it was easier, would be more.

Martinez doesn't have to go to 168. I'm not saying that, but they're trying to trick people into thinking he's smaller than he really is. He would state before that he couldn't go below 154 pounds because he walks around 180 pounds. Now he's trying to change it up.
    I wouldn't say he's a small MW either, he's just a normal sized MW.

They are clearly full of ****. Just a few weeks ago, Martinez said he normally walks around at about 176. However, they are committed to getting that big money fight. I can't blame them. If Sergio wants to drop down to 150 to fight Mayweather or Pacquiao, more power to him.

I sat right by him during the PW-Cintron fight and was around him a lot in Atlantic City both times for PW 1 and 2.

That motha****a ain't no small middleweight. He doesn't strike me as being any smaller naturally than Andre Ward, who I have also spent a lot of time around.

I think he could easily fight at 168 when it comes to size, but I also don't blame him for trying to cash out. He didn't invent the game, he's just playing it.:deal

Yeah that's what I'm saying. If he wants to fight Pac or Floyd, I don't mind and I want to see it, but don't lie to me. You're not a no small MW. He's much more capable of making weight at 168 than Pac or Floyd is at 154.

So Ricky Hatton would walk around close to 200lbs between fights so he should of fought at cruiser, right? What lovely bunch of ****ing geniuses.

Isn't Sergio on average 3 inches shorter than the average SM?

The solution to this problem is: Chavez Jr. He and Sergio both fight in the same class. Obviously Arum isn't going to make the fight happen. But you can't **** on Sergio for pushing for a match against a middleweight with good name value. Sergio deserves it.

Walking around weight means nothing. Has it occurred to you when they said he can't go below 154, it was just a potential weight to start negotiations if they went there? You use the word 'trick' as if there's something disingenuous going on with their camp. I think you, and too many others, just put too much into everything a fighter says. Like i say to others, you need to learn to take things said with a grain of salt, otherwise you'll go nuts running in circles by yourself.

Fine, if you think he's a normal sized MW, that still doesn't mean he'll have more success at SprMW then if he was a small MW. Martinez has no business going to SprMW to fight.
