Mayorga isn't going to do **** after the 5'th round. Mayorga looked horrible in his last fight even, there is nothing to suggest Mayorga beats Cotto. The only chance is a punchers chance for Mayorga early on, but after that he'll begin tire, with Cotto taken full advantage.

Miguel by tko in 9'th round.

:dealExactly the message I was saying. This is not even the same version of Mayorga that fought DLH. Cotto has more than a likely chance to stop Mayorga. This is 2011. Mayorga hasn't had a significant fight since getting ko'd by Mosley in '08 and he hasn't had a really significant win since beating Vargas in '07. Even then Vargas was very faded but still went the distance. Assuming Cotto wins, I bet after the fight many of the same people that give Mayorga a big chance now will later say "Mayorga was done, he had no chance".

Cotto has gotten up before and yes Mayorga had shown power against top names such as Mosley, De La Hoya, Forrest, and Trinidad but guess what? Three of them adapted to his assault and ko'd him and this is YEARS ago. Mayorga doesn't have the endurance he did anymore and guess what happened when Trinidad went to the body more? Mayorga crumbled and Cotto is one of the best bodypunchers today when he wants to be. This isn't a guaranteed victory for Cotto and we both can agree on that but Mayorga isn't as dangerous as he was years ago. He looked tired in the mid rounds against Walker and I don't recall Walker punishing the body like Cotto can do. I predict that after the first few rounds of wildness from Mayorga, Cotto will figure him out and knock him out. Rinse and repeat from what DLH & Trinidad did years ago. Keywords: Years Ago.

Exactly? This isn't the same Mayorga? Which Cotto is this?

The Cotto who turned his back and knelt down in front of the onslaught from Margo? The Cotto who was getting muscled and arguably was beaten by low activity Clottey? The Cotto who was destroyed by Pac? The Cotto who took forever to beat a one legged B level fighter?

Vargas is on an entirely different level than Cotto in the chin/heart department. I like Cotto and don't mean to knock him, but he is no Vargas when it comes to will to win. Nobody is saying Mayorga is faded. We are just saying you guys might be writing Mayorga off a bit too soon.:deal

Bwahahaha! Adapted? When has Cotto ever adapted? So you see him "going to the body" on a bigger and harder punching opponent? Really? You don't see the flaw in this logic?

The only chance I see for Cotto is that zinger of a left hook and Mayorga not being in shape. Other than that? Cotto is pulling a short straw. Mayorga/Pac is the bailout fight Arum uses to kill the 4th attempt at Mayweather/Pac. Remember, you heard it here first. :hey

Cotto is still relevant. I'm not saying Mayorga stands no chance but Cotto has much more in the tank than Mayorga. What has Mayorga done recently that meant something? Thanks:tong lol. And Mayorga is incredibly faded.

    Yes a very good chance

He landed a lot on Trinidad and Mosley some of those shots would KO any lesser guy

    He did beat Vargas

His chin is battle tested but not uncrackeable

My assessment on Cotto is that if you can take his punch and you can back him up you can win

Cotto's worst performances are when his opponents are not intimidated and can take his punches

Malinaggi, Mosely, Margarito, Pacquiao and Clottey could all take his punch and took it to him and gave him all kinds of trouble

Cotto has terrible body language and runs and backpeddles when hurt

he also body punches less cant see him win easily without targeting the mid section

I pick Cotto by late stoppage between 9 and 12 but its a tough battle

Relevant? I don't know what that word means. You like the ring of his name? Cotto is a guy who was getting knocked down at 140, had his hands full at 147, and jumped up to a desolate 154 to take on the WEAKEST belt holder. Relevant... right. What has Cotto done recently that meant something? Your welcome.

We have no idea what Cotto has left in the tank. We hope he has a lot. Mayorga lasted longer and had a better showing than the man who sparked Cotto. Yes common opponents don't mean much, but they do mean something. Faded or not.

All I am saying. People are really ignoring the warning signs in Cotto's recent performances since Margo. Even in winning.

IMHO, though still favoring Cotto, this isn't going to be as easy as many people think.

Honestly that is how I see this fight too.

This was a horrible pick for Cotto's camp at this stage while he is still finding his footing post Marg/Pac.

I bet on Mayorga too. As someone else said, betting on Cotto is too risky and has very little reward.

It isn't like Cotto looked good in his last fight either.

don't get me wrong i think Cotto wins but 9/1 odds is worth a shot. Mayorga looks in great shape and made the weight easy

Not that big of a chance but still a chance none the less. I see Mayorga tiring out and Cotto going in for the kill.
