WHO IS CANELO? A NOBODY... SIMPLY A NOBODY. He didn't do SQUAT vs Mayweather and it wasn't that Mayweather was too good, canelo didn't do squat. Cotto, maidana, old DLH, Castillo and others did better vs Mayweather. Didn't Canelo struggle vs Lara? To me canelo is an overhyped boxer cause he has looks, is mexican and boxing desperately needs the best big thing. HE HASN'T PROVEN A DAMN THING SO FAR... he is a NOBODY until he proves himself. He needs to win 4-5 big fights before he convinces me... is he even in ring's p4p list? NO

You got to put things in sequence, after the Cotto fight, Floyd came knocking and offered Manny 50/50 and OST. When Pac and his team acted like complete morons who where hiding something that is when fans like me looked back on Pac's fights with a suspicious eye. If Pac is using PEDS and catchweights then he deserves to be criticized. And it's not like his trainer Freddie Roach didn't brag about using weight drain tactics to get an advantage. They were bloody proud of forcing opponents like Oscar and cotto to come in under weight!

Did you not see how smug Ellerbe was about forcing Canelo to a catchweight? He basically said Canelo's team was stupid for doing it, and he outsmarted them.

Honest and truthful, if they offer to drain themselves, Floyd's team is smart enough to accept it. Also doesn't that indicate how confident Canelo's team was that they'd beat Floyd. Maybe they figured they'd never lose to a welterweight! Especially a powderpuff puncher who throws 10 punches a round and runs

Floyd wants Canelo to have rehydration clause also.

I'm not a fan of the cw in either bout, but to me the circumstances surrounding each fight were completely different. Cotto at the time was coming off one possibly two losses(Margarito,Clottey) with one likely cheating, had just lost his Father*, and had basically no trainer(this in a 1year span from TM-MP).

Canelo was coming off his best win at the time vs Trout(scores should have been closer but Trout got beat up and dropped), was an undefeated unified Champ, the only thing he had to worry about was the weight.

Alvarez was at his career best, Cotto was at his lowest point. For context Canelo went on to beatdown Angulo, while Cotto took the longest break of his career.

The problem is that f l o m o. S believed in the Canelo hype that's why they justify that win but anyone with an ounce of boxing knowledge saw what the fight was for what it was ..Floyd was in another high reward low risk fight ..Canelo was very green and looked like **** going into the fight but becuase he was so well hyped its was deemed worthy ...

It really depends on what Canelo does with his career. If he fizzles out than the win was marginal at best. If he becomes a true boxing HOF'er than it will be seen as a significant victory.

the way i see it is this fight broke PPV records and as we all know alot of people buy floyds fights hoping to see him lose, if there was not a legit chance of that happening it would have pulled the usual 1-1.2m

regardless of the outcome of the fight. lets all just remember hindsight is always 20/20

It was a master move by Mayweather , beat a young , popular unbeaten fighter who in reality does everything well but not one thing great.

The weight wasnt an issue the talent was.

I don't see your point the first thing I said was I didn't like the catch weight for either fight
