I don't feel like the state of the division during Floyd's bull**** retirement is really relevant to the original thread topic. The question posed is whether or not Floyd beat an ATG in his prime.

At the time there was some hot fights in the division but not with fighters that meet the criteria. Cotto, Margarito, Williams, aren't atg's. Mosley is but was well past his prime. That leaves manny who is already fighting well above his most dominant weight. Even if the fight had happened so er people would have talked **** about the weight and not given Floyd any credit for the win

    23 year-old, 33-0, #5 p4p Diego Corrales wasn't elite level in his prime?

The question is all time great.

MAB and Morales are top 40-75 p4p all time fighters.

Did you read the post I quoted? The guy said Mayweather had never beaten an elite fighter in his prime, never mind an all time great. I was replying to him, not to the thread title.

Corrales IMO was an elite fighter, but let's stay on track. Just ignore that guy.

    He was not an ATG.

It's a 19 page thread that has been done to death hundreds of times. Pardon us for branching the discussion out a little bit.

If you want to stay on track, you mentioned Morales, who was not prime when Manny beat him. War-torn is the expression I would use.

The only ATG is Floyd, when fighters face Floyd they are facing an ATG, see that's how it works kid

Morales was prime when he beat Pacquiao. So yea he lost to prime Morales.

Floyd hasn't faced or beaten an ATG.

Morales wasn't prime when he beat Pacquiao and he certainly wasn't prime when Pacquiao beat him. His win was his last hurrah. He got schooled in his next fight and then Manny scooped up the leftovers. He was most certainly an all-time great, finally feeling the wear and tear of being an absolute warrior, and coming down in weight after a loss. I see no reason to rate Pacquiao - Morales II over Mayweather-Corrales.

He was prime. His body gave out after that fight. Similar to an NFL running back who wins MVP one season, but the very next season he's shot and finished.

Did he look prime against Raheem? Did he seem prime when he said "Maybe I should no longer be doing this?" Was he prime when the fight started and past it 10 rounds later?

Morales is greater than corrales. Morales was never stopped until pac did it. Even a shot to pieces morales could not be stopped by Maidana at a weight that morales has no business.
