Lack of heart...But this doesn't affect his ability to win, just affects the way people view him...

He doesn't have any substantial weaknesses.

He's well round and a little tougher than most give credit for.

Also has sting on his punches, honestly this is probably his most underrated area. He may not throw a lot of punches but the one's he throws now u can see he sits down on and gets some hurt into them.

That said he hasn't really been in with someone who can expose him. Judah had a good start in their fight..slick southpaws like Martinez would be a tough fight for floyd. Williams obviously. Pacquiao would too.

Mayweather hasn't been in with anyone the past 4 years that's presented the LEAST difficulty stylistically. He hasn't taken up any challengers who he hasn't had big advantages on for a long time.

He goes straight back on the line when attacked from behind the jab(see DLH), which negates his ability to counter imo, as his weight is too much on his heels to counter when you use that offensive jab on him, problem is, a lot of fighters dont get their feet into position when they jab, and so end up reaching with the jab, and that is why he times his right hand over a lot of fighters jabs. Mayweather also leaves his chin in the air when he attacks on the front foot.

So lemme get this right...ur praising the guy who gets hit over and over again (and eventually KO'd), instead of the one who is stunned for about 30 seconds and goes on to completely dominate the fight?

Only weaknesses are his low punch output, brittle hands, and he leans in when he shoots those shots to the body

i think he gets cocky in the ring sometimes. he keeps his hands too low that is why he gets hit with some big shots sometimes like he did with mosley. luckily he has an iron chin. but, he is human and still has to protect himself. look what happened to roy jones jr

Mayweather's biggest weakness, might be his biggest strength.

I tend to think Mayweather's economical approach, is what makes it difficult for opponents to counter him, as he doesn't throw a lot out there to work (counter)off, he also changes the rhythm of when he throws, so its even harder to time his attacks. Mayweather also uses his legs a lot, which helps cut down the activity/aggression of his opponents, but as I say, at times, I feel this approach can be to his detriment, as it seems its based on anticipating that your doing enough for the judges, that your getting credit for what your doing, now Mayweather, up until now, has got the benefit of the doubt, which is surprising to me, considering Americans tend to favour aggression most of the time.

Makes you think, might Floyd eventually fall victim to the effect De Gale had on the judges, by making Groves the good guy, I'm talking if, or when he fights Manny, and if the fight turns out to be relatively close, which I'm not saying I think it will, but what if?

Slow starter is probably the biggest thing but its not near as bad as Bhop was with Tayler and Calzaghe. But he did drop some rounds to Judah and DLH just from feeling them out and going along with a slow jabbing contest and not being active enough.

I think maybe with someone with a really good jab like Forrest or Winky he would find himself in the second half of the fight and way down on the cards and it would be too late.

People exaggerate that round with mosley saying he was almost stopped. No he almost fell after taking two clean right hands. It was still only a 10-9 round, if he did get dropped it would have been a 10-8, big deal when he won rounds 3-12.

Everytime hes gotten hurt he has kept his cool, there is no indication that he would pull a judah-kostya move and try to jump up in 1 second if he did get dropped.

I don't get the questionable chin talk...He was hit flush by Mosley and Corley...powerful shots and didnt go down...I think he has a great chin...If anything; his weakness could be his inactivity because his skills will eventually slowly diminish...His power is very underrated

I don't really care to be honest. It's a case of 'ask a silly question...' and it doesn't matter if Eddie Futch himself started the thread, I'd answer it the way I'd answer it if it was someones' first post. John Garfield may be a good poster, but I'm not going to get all dewy-eyed like a teenage girl meeting J.Timberlake, I'll respond to him the way I'd respond to anyone else, that's only fair.

And Cotto, DLH and Pac never was as hurt as Floyd. Him being the hardest puncher is a myth. He never had one punch KO power at Welterweight.

He fought Castillo while injured and still won
Oscar out weighed him by more than 15 pounds, so I guess his weakness is fighting guys 2 weight classes above
He fought Corley more aggressively than usual and had his highest contact round in the fight of his career
Judah did give him trouble, but he adjusted, so if you want a blueprint on how to beat Floyd for 4 rounds, then watch this one
Mosley didn't give him any trouble other than 2 punches. Notice Mosley never landed the same combination again in the fight and every time he did, he go countered
