Oscar's base in Mexico has gone down big time and a lot of them don't even pay for PPV to begin with so they are not a contributing factor at all to PPV buys.

I just think that it has to eventually come to a point where people say **** no I aint going to keep paying $60 to see Oscar in some lame ass fight. Even Tyson stopped getting big PPV numbers at some point.

the woo ... you would think so, but its not happening yet ... i'm telling myself not to watch that fight but I think the closer it comes the more i'm going to anticpate it.

Oscar is going to bring 800k no matter who he fights thats bottom line. He did against Tito, B-Hop, Mayorga, Mayweather ... he's huge.

fans should boycott the fight, but that would only be the hardcore fans ... people who don't know any better see two big names and just orders it.

What the **** you trying to say? Did you know that mexicans are amongst the top consumers...Every Mexican I know ordered Mayweather 1 on PPV it was basically free just go to a friends house. I really think all of you are forgetting who De La Hoya is. This ****er is about to sell out an outdoor stadium in Los Angeles!!! Whos the last boxer to do that? No way Cotto Mayweather does more $ than Oscar Mayweather 2, based on the fact that Mosley and Cotto fight did ****. Only peolpe watching were NY people and Boricuas. Hardly anybody in the west coast even though sugar is from Cali, Oscar has all the west coast, south west, and south america fans.

I didn't get conned into thinking Hatton was going to win - though I hoped he would :bbb

Ricky Hatton could fight you or me at Wembley stadium and fill it, because the British public love him.

In terms of PPV buys, was it 900k in the US, and 2m in the UK - I recall seeing figures like that bandied about?

It's unfortunate that Floyd is taking this route. He wants to make as much money as DLH but if DLH was in his place he would have already made the fight with Cotto and I wouldn't be surprised if even now DLH fights Cotto before Mayweather. Mayweather has to understand that he will only make that much money by fighting risky fighters and increasing his fan base. He wants to fight DLH and Hatton because of the numbers pulled in from Their fanbase while he could be in their place himself. Come on guys, I recognize floyd as talented but to be fighting fighters you already beat while the real champs are making REAL history, that does not spell out ATG to me. :tired

Floyds biggest number was 375K before DLH just 2 fights ago. So spare the PBF superdraw ****. Miguel is right where Floyd was before DLH. Cotto will bring more buys than DLH or Hatton. WHy? Because he's a LIVE and deserving opponent. People want to see the best. Talking re-runs is utter ****! Neither DLH or Hatton will do as well in numbers a second time.

    ...what?

Oscar is the only other established mainstream boxer besides Tyson, Holyfield, and Lewis in nearly the last 15 years. If you walk down the street and ask your average person who Oscar De La Hoya is there is a good chance the name will be familiar, and certainly familiar with any degree of boxing observer. On the contrary you will be hard pressed to draw the same reaction from anyone; even some Puerto Ricans regarding Cotto. You honestly believe he will bring more total buys as to surpass even the mark of De La Hoya-Trinidad? Cotto is no where near as popular, the guy can't even speak English fluently enough to get that much attention. Floyd consistently drew over 300k+ PPV buys for three fights (one being against a virtually unknown opponent) while Cotto has risen over that mark once against two name opponents.

any one that thinks that Cotto Floyd would get higher numbers then Oscar Cotto are sick. 60 million is what Oscar and Floyd split the first time. It would take five fights with Cotto and floyd to make those numbers. Oscar has crossover appeal, Floyd has recently gained some crossover appeal. Cotto is only known to true boxing fans. Thus he it would only be one guy Floyd drawing in crossover fans or non-boxing fans.

Now I dont think that anyone would argue that WE would rather see Floyd Cotto, but going on pure numbers Oscar Floyd two will not do the numbers that it did the first time but it will still do much better then Cotto floyd would do.

DLH aint the peak DLH anymore:nono After the fishnets Golden Girl routine and the loss to Floyd? Theres no way they do the same or better numbers. I for one wont buy the second and I'm not alone. Its a horse**** fight that many people dont want to see.

What I said is PBF vs Cotto is the biggest fight in boxing. Promoted right with 24/7 and attention? It will do very well. Saying Cotto isnt known anymore is rubbish. He's known and all that is? Is excuses to take the path of least resistance yet again. Cotto has been building and after SSM, his name is out there. He's right where Floyd was.

DLH 2 is a sham, nothing more nothing less and guess what? They might know Tyson? But he aint doing the same PPV #'s as his prime either.

    I think  not:nono

Promote a real superfighta and PBF vs Cotto will do very well.
