First of all I want to say I dont see why there should be a rematch, McCloskey did not win a single round nor did he through a combination, To warren a rematch he would have to have done SOMETHING to warrant it. This was a volunatary defence of his WBA title by Khan against an Undefeated Top 10 ranked LLW as a tune up before Bradley it was not a mandatory defence. The way Team McCLoskey behaved post fight you would have thought McCLoskey was the reigning champion and Khan was the challenger for the title, Then the disrespect they showed to De La Hoya pre and post fight just topped it for me. Eddie Hearns was insulting a great champion like De La Hoya and at the post fight De La Hoya had enough and stopped Eddie Hearn mid sentence and stopped the press conference. You could tell De La Hoya did not want to be here and that they had no interest in a rematch, I dont blame them, The fight was a farce from start to finish and rematching McCLoskey is a waste of time. McCLoskey should have fought like Victor Ortiz against Berto if he really wanted to be world champion. Instead it looked like he was wanting a hand out. Even Roach who is normally a fair person seemed annoyed with Team McCLoskey post fight and ruled out a rematch stating that they had bigger and better things to do. Khan was right to put Matchroom and McCLoskey in their place because they had been taking advantage and talking nonsense pre and post fight, Infact McCLoskey and his team did more post fight than Paul did during the fight.
The conmen from camp Mcloskey were just there for the payday, get a ****ing belt than down the line they can rematch But don't jump on Khans dick crying for a rematch when you didn't win one ****ing round but somehow you were going to beat him No incentive whatsoever
No no no. What moron would want to see a rematch after Paul did nothing for 6 rounds? Apart from land a right hook and a straight left down the pipe, he did absolutely nothing apart from use his dancing reflexes to make Khan look a bit silly. He was a beaten man and he knows it, apart from his shitty Team and his fans, of course.
McCloskey should just make his own route now. Any press is good press as they say, and he got a lot of it last night. He should be in the mix to fight good names now so thats what he should do.
Does he ****. He should have been grateful to have been given the opportunity in the first place. His team were incredibly bitter and deluded in he aftermath, and really did go over the top in continuing to insult Khan, his team, and Oscar. There's only so much someone can take, and Khan kept his mouth shut for too long. I was glad to see him put them fools into place. McCloskey and his fans need to realise that their plan of taking Khan into the latter rounds, only works if you invest earlier! You need to do what Maidana did, and continue making him run on his bike and throw lots of punches to keep you off him. Only then is he vulnerable to the knockout late on. Their plan of boxing him on the outside, was never going to do this! Khan was comfortably fighting at a pace he prefers, just like he was doing in the Malignaggi fight. There was zero chance of him tiring if he wasn't going to be rushed.
Ask him to have a rematch for free if he really wants it??? Do you think he'll agree?? Errr.....NO!! Asking for a rematch is just a sophisticated way of sitting down with a pot in city centre and begging for money!!!
:good Had it been close in the first 6 rounds then maybe, but Mcclosekey lost every minute of every round. That was great from Amir how he put all the tw4ts, that are team mccloskey, in their place!
Does he ****. The way that whole team behaved before and after match was diabolical. Limond should have had a rematch clause in his contract when he fought Khan. Willie put up a far better fight than McCloskey did and would never have given in so easy. He deserved a shot at Khan more than McCloskey.
