Does Michael Spinks get sold short cause of Tyson caning him

I recall an interview where nazeem richardson said spinks had one of the best careers, lhw run, beats holmes, loses to tyson & retires without too much punishment.
I think hopkins emulated spinks' style a little.

 

Most defintly he got a bad rep for the Tyson fight, he showed up looking terrified and went down from a body shot in the first round. He was a great fighter though with notable heavyweight wins over Cooney and Holmes. There wasn' a better light heavy
