Does Michael Spinks have a case for being ranked top 30 OAT, and above...

    See the problem I have with people on this subject is Spinks far, far superior resume than Jones at Light Heavyweight....I have battled against this on my other account...wink wink Addie...

    Now it's a fact Spinks has the better LHW resume but being far superior is too much of a stretch.

    What a joke how the hell is Yaqui Lopez ahead of Hill and Tarver? Yaqui only has wins over Quarry and Rossman. Both Tarver and Hill have a better resume, plus Jones was a middleweight, going up to beat these fighters whereas Spinks was a natural Light Heavyweight.


    Jones went from Middleweight to Heavyweight and beat John Ruiz there. It's a borderline great win, no matter what you say.

    Where's the stretch? You're including the likes of Clinton Woods, Merqui Sosa, and an old Reggie Johnson, while leaving out superior fighters like Murray Sutherland and Vonzell Johnson, among others, from Spinks's resume.

    Please show me how these fighters and their resume are betters than the 3 Jones foes I mentioned, please.

    Because I've seen them all fight many times, and Lopez was both men's superior, in my estimation. The fact that he fought in a far tougher era is the only draw-back in regards to his resume. Even in his losses to the likes of Galindez and Saad Muhammad you can see the level at which he operated. Better than any of those two would've done, and I say that with confidence. Tarver wasn't really even superior to a guy like Rossman for my money.

    This is the problem. Your entire argument is based on what you've read on Boxrec. It has nothing to do with actually watching footage of the fighters. Clinton Woods was a dreadfully poor champ by all time standards. Sutherland was basically that era's equivalent of someone like Mikkel Kessler.

    And by that standard old man Reggie Johnson, Harding, Woods, old man McCallum, and Gonzalez aren't even worth discussing as record-padders.:good

    Reggie was only 32...so yeah. Every one of his losses were close or very close. Jones was the only one to destroy him.

    Harding has wins over Tarver and Griffin....so yeah.

    Woods went 1-1-1 with Glen Johnson and 2 wins over Gonzalez....so yeah.




    The Great Murray Sutherland has one win over the Great Eddie Davis.....Edit, I forgot he got his ass beat the **** out of by The Great Eddie Davis and only has a win over past prime Tony Mudine. Everytime he stepped up in competition he got his ass handed to him.


    The Far Superior Vonzell Johnson has one win over....??? Oh yeah he doesn't even have one single good win....
