Does Mike McCallum not remind anyone of Thomas Hearns?

Watch McCallum's body shots in the fight with Donald Curry. I think Hearns throws his body punches the same way in his fight with Delgado, maybe Barkley II.

Actually Hearns stopped Luis Primera with a body punch on Dec. 5, 1980. His first title defense. Primera was hard for him to line up so he started to go to the body. Just froze him up.

As Hearns got older and he couldn't knock out guys with head shots as much he started to work the body more and more of his opponents. He was more effective when he was younger, but he became better rounded when he got older. Ironic.

I thought Hearns was great offensively on the inside, just defensively he always sacrificed defense for his offense.

Some guys revise their style, or add to it too late. I think James Tillis did the same thing, and probably cheated himself out of more success than he could have had. Who knows.

Ironically against Barkley in June 1988...Tommy was putting on an incredible display of body punching...until that one punch kayo ended the last vestiges of his prime.

Funny but heres my take: Hearns left hook to the body was better then anything Mike threw to the body- but Mike of course worked the body better then Hearns with an assortment of punches and from more angles.

Yeah I don’t see a great deal of similarity between those two men

I remember Barkley saying the hardest he was hit is from Hearns to the body.
