Ten 'greatest'? Maybe. But certainly among the 5 'best' ever.

Never saw Lewis badly outpointed by an unmotivated LHW or by someone of Ruiz's caliber...Holyfield also fought Foreman and Holmes when they were old. Lewis was far more dominant than Evander, beat him twice, destroyed fighters that would have given Evander tough fights.

As good a fighter as Tyson was and the fact that a peak Tyson could beat many tip ten heavyweights, he never did fulfil his potential and can never go down as a one of the greatest champions or heavyweights. He should go down as one of the greatest fighters of all time .

We were talking about top10 heavyweight of all time, not limited only to the 90s' (and even then one could argue LL and Holyfield should be top2).

Why is Frazier above Holmes or Lewis? He had the immortal win over Ali but Holmes dominated the division for seven years, which Frazier could never have done. Norton beat that version of Ali, it was a great achievement to do it first, but outside the Ali win, Frazier's career was too short at the top to be ranked so high.

Tyson belongs in the top 10 without a shadow of a doubt. where in the top 10, thats very hard to establish.......

but the man was a total beast in his prime...and had the potential to be in the top 3 of all time in the heavyweights.....

  7. Anybody with Marciano on their list has to be a racist white idiot. Marciano isnt a heavyweight you dumb douche bags. But yeah Tyson should be in the top 10. Well I would have him at about 10

No. To be great you have to beat great fighters. Tysons best win was Spinks. Not good enough. Plus he lost to some really BAD fighters. He could have been top 3, but he isn't.

    I'd think so.

These guys usually get ranked above him:

Holyfield: Yea that 96 Tyson and the Bowe win are great wins. But he lost a ton of fights, and he's a cheater, and used HGH/roids.

Liston: love this dude but does he have the resume or heavyweight dominance?

Take 1 of them out and Tyson squeaks into the top 10 I'd say.

I also have real problems ranking heavies like Jack Johnson and Jack Dempsey. Totally different times, different styles.

My point exactly, and niether do the films to watch them...

Sam Langford was 5'6"...He weighed 155lbs when he fought Johnson...Johnson fought a lot of MW's btw...

Jack Dempsey: Faced two undefeated fighters 3-0 and a 1-0-1...The SIX bouts leading up to his championship fight were against opponents as follows; 4 professional debuts, a 2-1 fighter and a 0-1 fighter...He won the championship from Willard (22-3-1) and held it for only 6 fights...

Gene Tunney was the best fighter Dempsey fought, of course he was a LHW, but, he still beat Dempsey twice...

But, with little or no film, these guys are getting rated above Tyson and other ATG's...and people on this board are applauding these 'historians' for doing so...

    Funny stuff...

What's with all the jackasses who say "how can you put Dempsey or Johnson up there," "who did Joe Louis beat," or "you are racist if you put Marciano in top ten." Amongst the list: Ali, Louis, Dempsey, Johnson, Marciano are locks. And anyone criticizing Joe Louis has no idea that he's more significant to the sport than any other fighter of all time.
