History cannot look at anything as it lacks the sense of sight.
A top 10 list of all time heavyweight fighters is subjective to personal opinion. Every reply in this thread is personal opinion, including your list of "facts".

At his best, Tyson was arguably THE best ever, if he'd retired after demolishing Spinks, he'd have been rated the best ever IMO.
He was also the youngest ever Champion, which IMO must make him a top 10 of all time Heavyweight.

yeah this is an odd one isnt it. If he retired before Douglas, he'd be much better than, say, Rocky Marciano in record quality and defences. Noone would argue with hmi being top five ATG.

Its odd, our perception of fighters.

I think he's a lock to be honest.

He pretty much cleaned out his era.

    He unified every title claim.

On film he's one of the most skilled fighters in history.

Ten years after first taking top spot in the division, he repeated the trick.

    His longevity is terribly underrated.

He proved himself against big boys like ruddock and golota.

Unless you box the perfect outside strategy, you aint gonna beat him.

He also defended his top spot against noteworthy opponents quite often.

My top ten hasn't changed much in a while it's something like this.

    Ali
    Louis
    Johnson
    Foreman
    Holmes
    Lewis
    Frazier
    Tyson
    Holyfield
    Marciano

Although if someone was to ask me why I'm putting rocky over wlad, I probably couldn't answer.

I think he deserves to be in the top 10, yeah. A brilliant fighter with a good resume. I'd probably have him between 5-10 but I don't see much of an argument that there are 10 better heavyweights than Tyson.

    Johnson
    Foreman
    Dempsey
    Tyson
    Holyfield
    Marciano

I can't include the Klitschkos as they are still active. Wlad may keep winning for the next five years which is what I think will happen or he may get KOD in round two of his next fight, and then we go yeah his chin was never any good.

How many times Evander had to beat Tyson to put him in front?

Yeah, Tyson is a top 10 all-time great heavyweight. Probably in the 8-10 area but he's in there.

He beat a lot of good fighters and a number of them in impressive fashion and he only lost one fight when he was close to his peak. I'd put him on the same level as guys like Liston, Dempsey, and Wills.

first off, no boxer in history made/makes ali look "smalltime'......being in a pepsi commercial and being a political and racial icon are two different types of fame

and since when does public perception and popularity mean you're the best or one of the best heavyweights ever?
