...greatness that more than qualifies him for the HOF.

You could halve the number of creditable victories on his resume and he would still belong.

    Utterly ridiculous question.

I respect the fact that you have high moral values, but it is the “Hall of Fame”, not the “Hall of Morality”.

When Time Magazine were criticised for making Hitler and Stalin Man of the Year, they responded that it was not meant to be an honour in any way.

The same is true of the IBHOF.

There are several inductees who have done far worse things than Tyson out of the ring - McCoy, Papke, Blackburn, Monzon and King all killed people, and there are numerous others with criminal records.

The criteria for induction doesn't take account of any extra-curricular activity, which is probably a good thing.

dunno. he destroyed a lot of fighters. But, he was a poor boxer who always lost against the best...and the worst. Who did he really beat to deserve HOF consideration? A great puncher, but he fought against a lot of weak comp and did not establish a dominant run as champ. If not for the prison term, I think he would have been a shoe-in

he beat everyone from the ground up to every world title. who was better than that?

Side issue, hofer isn't about morals, its about acheivements so his bad side doesn't necessariliy reflect on his status ni the hall. h o f is about being famous for something in my book, hence its name hall of fame and hes famous for being youngest titleholder so I would think he would be a hofer for just that alone.

of course the point was lost on you. if he hadn't been a convicted ******, perhaps fighting instead of being in jail he would have built a better legacy:patsch:nut

you have assumed the point was lost on me. That point is obvious to me, and required no comment which is why I never quoted it at all. My apologies if it appeared ambiguous.
