Does Moses Itauma love boxing?

I do find it a red flag when these young boxers say "I want to retire early" and are focused on making the money.

Jared Anderson was like that too.

 

This loss could light a massive fire under his ass and improve him in every way. It could also totally ruin him and leave him mentally shot. Comments like this (in the video) are definitely NOT a good indication. However he did show massive balls and swing his heart out against Hrgovic, even when totally exhausted and on the verge of being stopped.

I guess we'll see.

Double post but I'll also say the majority of training here seems power based (from skimming the video). Not much hard conditioning or stamina work. Since he's a speed fighter I also think he'd benefit from actually getting his weight a bit lower into the 230s.

Also Ben Davidson having his own personalised bags, with his name on, is absolute certified cringe.

 

He has that lazy stoner mentality.
All that talent wont get you to the top if you dont work hard.
He doesnt work hard and thats why he was gassed in the 5 round before even getting punched once

 

I can't get over how dour and arrogant he is at the same time. Makes AJ and DDD look like Mr Charisma in comparison

 

Nice that we got vindicated earlier than we thought. I gave Hrgybear a good shot but after the Dubois loss and inactive years, we didn’t know what to expect same with Dubois against Wardley. Just shows how damn good Usgk is when he absolutely toyed and destoryed a Dubois who beat the **** out of Hrgybear who just stopped Itauma.

Usyks stock went up tonight.

 

Questioning the Mentality of this "Kid" is stupid given:

1) He took the fight
2) He dominated the fight
3) He showed the "Instinct" of a real fighter in that last round. He could barely stand, but was still trying to throw bombs, trying to evade shots and took many.

His attack looked great.
His defense looked great.

He just lacked the experience to "Usyk his way" to a very easy decision.

Ironically, he beats Hrgovic if he had gone 12 rounds with Franklin.

 

I think that was somewhat driven at by Hrgovic in the build up when he was asking him how he could fall out of love with boxing after a relatively short period of being in the pro sport compared to other fighters. Basically he was trying to understand how much he really wanted to be here and how dedicated he really was if he had already began feeling disheartened despite in Hrgovic's view having things handed on a silver platter at such an early stage whilst he'd had to bang away day after day in comparable obscurity and ups and downs for so long to reach this same point. He was essentially questioning whether someone like that could live with him over 12 rounds when you think about it.
