He has unfinished business (and an almost guaranteed win) with Berto, win lose or draw against Floyd. Avenging the loss to Cotto should also look appealing. Especially at 154.
I'd like to give him one more chance only because styles make fights. Mayweather could make him look old by dancing in the ring. But that doesn't necessarily mean Mosley can't take a punch or his hand speed is gone. Even if he loses, I still like his chances against Pac. I've said it many times - win or lose there's no reason why Shane shouldn't fight Pac next if Floyd-Pac cannot be made. There is no way Floyd will knock Shane out cold so we can throw that possibility out the window.
Nah. A close loss hikes his profile, a questionable loss really tips him over, there's money to be made. Maybe Winky-less 154 will look like it needs another stab. A Cotto rematch would probably sell. I would definitely pay to see him beat Margarito's ass again If he gets hurt (which he probably won't), he should think about packing up.
Why not what else is left for him? If its a close fight. Fight a rematch or fight Pacquiao. But if he doesn't want to no shame in that. There is nothing else left for him. He's already slurring his words might as well hang them up.
If Mayweather wins, the whole drug testing issue will still be in the air for the possible fight with Pac... Look for Pac to try and be more impressive against Mosley than Mayweather if Mosley loses.
Pac's stock would take a huge dump if he went after Mosely(if he lost to PBF)instead of the winner of that fight.
But Cotto does? Mosley was strong enough at 154 to stop Mayorga and Vargas; it'll be enough to stop Cotto (who I don't think will fit at the weight at all...it wouldn't even surprise me if the "featherfisted" Foreman hurt him with crisp accurate shots).
Why? Mosley could lose 120-84 (that's a twelve round shutout with Mayweather knocking him down twice in every round) and it still wouldn't prove that he's far gone enough that Berto can hang with him. Berto needs someone like Mosley to prove himself.
