Jeezo, hardly a glass jaw - those were cracking shots that not many heavyweights would get up from. What I think you saw there was the inexperience of someone uanble to stop straight rights coming down the pipe, and not used to elite level heavyweight boxing power. And Fury certainly wouldn't have helped Frances prep for Joshua's power for sure. But I can only think of maybe 2 or 3 heavyweights that wouldn't have capitulated from those shots - especially the KO that was a peach right on the coupon! Oliver McCall, Marius Wach and maybe Chuvalo!
His chin is fine. He got KO'd so badly because he doesn't know how to ride with shots to take some of the sting out of them like a seasoned boxer knows how to. He was literally running face first into AJ's punches.
He looked shocked after the first knockdown. It seems like he's not been in with a destructive elite punching heavyweight. Sparring with puddings doesn't prepare you for that like 10+ years of boxing does. MMA footwork is more planted because of wrestling, whereas in boxing you should always be moving to reduce punch impact. Poor guy looked like he saw death lmao. Forever a highlight reel now. Blame it on Fury for giving him false confidence.
Like I said, Ngannou was going to be eating every ounce of the full weight of those bombs due to his lack of experience. Belly hit him with a few big shots but there are at least a dozen HWs who hit harder than him if not more
I have no idea how Ngannou got up from the second knockdown. Say what you want but Ngannou has an iron chin.
Don’t get this, Joshua is a massive puncher - there is no shame in being stopped by him. Francis took Fury’s shots and elbows all night long - he’s got a chin (also demonstrated in his MMA career).
True. Ruiz ate shot that knocked Ngannou out cold. And that was Ruiz fresh of being knocked down by AJ's monstrous combination
