From the 13 fights I have of Pyror and the the eight early fights I have just got two days ago of Benn, thats who he reminded me off along with an young Tszyu. Correct me if I'm wrong :good
They really only have two things in common. Brutal power, and a non-stop assault. Other than that, Pryor's hand & foot speed was vastly superior P4P, he was a much better boxer (not his signature, but actually quite skilled), and more versatile, likely due to his superior skill. Benn almost always had to attack. Pryor almost always did, but he could outbox alot of guys. Moments in his 1st battle with Arguello, where he is feinting and countering. Saying Benn was a large version of a poor man's Pryor isn't really a far stretch, but Pryor did most things better, and did much, much more. Just my opinion. I've just seen 6 or 7 fights of Benn.
Thanks my man, like I said I only seen 8 quick fights of Benn. So I'm still studying him. But thanks alot :good
Its just a 8 early fights. Also I'm not trying to argue or sound stupid. But I think the first poster helped me out to what to expect from him and his style. I just think that his none stop pressure reminded of Pryor, but I forgot that Pyror was an excellent boxer. I just got a collection of 42 Benn fights, along with 21 Haye fights which I alreadty completed, and Kahn vs Gmez which was a great fight to me. I live in Vegas, so I DON'T KNOW TO MUCH ABOUT THE eURO FIGHTERS, BUT WILL START STUDYING
Ahh you are in for some treats then if you have the lot. Of his early fights the Logan fight was a sign of things to come. The Watson fight was the making of him - and one of the reasons so many people in the know rank Watson so highly. The wars with Eubank are excellent, and the McClellan fight brutal. Happy watching.
Thanks my man, I seen the McClelan fight a while back, but refuse to watch it again. You know why, but thanks and I will tell u what I think of him, since we have a three day weekend in America this week. I will have time to watch alot and those fights u told me in particular. Uubank will be next for me to add to my great collection of fighters :good
If you feel like that about the McClellan fight you wont want to watch Watson - Eubank II twice. Watch it once though. Superb fight despite the outcome. Inceidentally the Collins - Benn fights will likely be a let down. Benn left it all in the ring with G-Man and had nothing left by then.
Thanks for the heads up, but I will watch it once. But I will defenitly get back with you I need some sleep, I have a one year old daughter who likes to wake up inthe middle of the night. And a nagging fiance who says I be on ESB to much and that I should watch reality TV WITH HER. i'LL STICK TO esb until school starts back up for the fall semester :good
The iran barkely fight was just an awesone displays of punching and doug de witt well, ol` doug took some punishment right there, hard **** that boy
I think Benn has said he hit DeWitt with the best punch of his career. Barkley got a grade A beatdown when many thought he was favourite if not at least going to be competitive. Good fights those 2.
The Barkley fight should not have been stopped, Benn badly hurt Iran, but he was still able to fight. He had been dropped early in the round, came back and badly hurt Benn, controling most of the round, before being dropped again. I think it was stopped due to the "3 knockdown rule." There should have at least been a rematch to see what would have happened. Great round of action though.
The rules of the fight stated that the 3 KD rule was in effect so why shouldnt it have been stopped? Barkley went down three times ergo automatic stoppage. Now if you are saying the 3 KD rule is bull I'd have to agree, but as it stood it was an automatic stoppage with no argument whatsovever.
All I was commenting on was the stupidity of the 3 KD rule, Barkley was still able to fight, and it was a very entertaining round. I would like to have seen what else would have happened.
Benn in the 2nd fight with Eubank was counter punching the counter puncher. He had more skills than you're giving him credit for.
