Does Oleg's lineage die if he doesn't fight Sam Peter?

I think so. Why not? The heavyweight division is in too much disarrary right now to create another legitimate champion out of thin air.

As far as I am concerned, Sam Peter does not deserve a title shot RIGHT now anyways. Whoever he fights for the interim title, I have decided to now ignore the WBC lineage, following only the IBF lineage (Wladimir, the clear #1 heavyweight in the world right now, and the WBO-WBA lineage (which is going to be unified by Chagaev and Ibragimov).

We all know that boxing fans were never going to accept the new WBA "champion" (as opposed to their mindnumbingly stupid "super champion" winner of Chagaev-Ibragimov) so why should we accept another champion made out of thin air?

He never had lineage...The Lineage died when Lewis vacated the title.

This is horrible whats going on with Maskaev. Its like his promoter doesnt want him to fight anyone, and hes wasting all this time and money with lawyers, keeping him out of the ring. Maskeav isnt that great, and Rappaport should be looking for the quickest fight for the biggest dollars, instead of wasting his time with lawyers trying tofight everyone off. He aint gonna beat Peter, but its his mandatory.
