Does Oleksandr Usyk deserve his title fight against Anthony Joshua?

I think we've had a similar discussion before but I find it interesting how the result of particular fights matter more to you because people like fighters involved and you want to mock them if the fighter loses.

What's wrong with just enjoying fights for what they are? Nothing anyone on this forum does or says will impact the outcome, but people are just fans with their opinions - nothing wrong with that really.

Deserves it based on his accomplishments, yes. Undisputed CW champ and also a decorated Olympian.
However, he's also jumping the queue if he gets a shot.
**** it, make the fight!

 

When I see misguided opinions, it is the human condition to want to chime in and correct them.

Especially on a forum where the sole purpose is to discuss, and debate.

If you overhear someone on a train, then you wont butt in because its rude and the other person probably doesnt want your opinion.

But on a forum it is warranted. So I will correct misguided opinions.

It's like a dating app it is warranted to chat up a girl, but you cant just chat up a girl in a coffee shop it is rude, you dont know her state of mind... you are just assuming she would be interested... whereas on a dating app you are both there for one purpose, and that fact alone highlights the intention to be there for dating purposes.

Usyk would be wise to fight someone decent at HW before going in against Joshua.

Hopefully Joshua fights Pulev next, Top Rank is pushing for it. And hopefully Usyk and his camp will be reasonable and wait until after that, going for an interim or vacant WBO title in the meantime against someone easier like Chisora.

 

Brezeale had a title shot, Molina, Shpilka, Dupuah all had title shots recently.

 

Can't usually the real champs from a lower division get a shot to the champ at the higher division if they both want it? I thought when they didn't fight right away it was more about the lighter guy testing the waters.

 

'Deserved' is up for debate, I just don't think he's ready
