It can mentally break down the fighter losing the fight or even motivate them, I really don't know there but it can be good or bad for the fighters in the ring, of course for the public and people watching it can be good since you know what's going on. Think they reintroduced this plan to try and avoid robberies, at least it's a good sign they're trying to avoid that but applying something then again it can be bad or good.

It has one merit in a sea of negatives that I wish to God there was someway to keep...

Open scoring makes corruption hard. A fighter, a crowd, everybody hear's the scores. If the judges are doing a bad job, I can see it being struck down in a hurry.

But, that is the only good. I wish that we could find some way to make sure judges aren't filling their cards out beforehand that doesn't cripple fighters motivations.

Hate it because it kills the suspense of a fight.

YES! It is INDEED a double-edged Sword........... However, I think "Open" scoring can and does plant a "Stress" factor on the fighters concentration/focus..... Either way, I hate it.....

If it is being judged correctly there should be no suspense in the first place. Would you rather be surprised when you are robbed are know you are about to be? I'd much rather the latter, at least you can try and do something about it.

hate it. when neither fighter knows what's going on it's far more suspenceful. i mean, sam peter might not even have given up, and although he would've lost, he'd look far better lasting the distance then retiring on his stool.

Well lets say Vasquez/Marquez 3 had open scoring system. No doubt it would have killed the suspense of the fight.

It stinks, I think it contributed to Peter deciding to quit because of his low morale at not winning a single round.

No it would not have. The scores are only read after 4 rounds, so after the 4th, 8th and then not until the fight ended.

While this might discourage some fighters to quit, I doubt it would discourage fighters like Marquez/Vasquez.

Think about "Open" scoring for "Holy-Lewis 1" from 1999.... That was a bogus draw.... Eugina Williams was the ***** who scored for Holy over Lewis... WTF?

Really? Honestly I only seen it twice and both times it was Peter who is in the fights. Both ended early so didnt know that. I still would rather see it back the old way.
