well? Personally I think Clottey is a dangerous fight for any WW in the world, which he showed against Margo, Judah, and Cotto despite losing 2 out of 3. so beating him 12-0 is pretty damn impressive.
sure, it wasn't anything groundbreaking, but it's not his fault clottey was clottey i don't think it did anything for him legacy wise, but it kept him busy, and made him some money, and got him another W
Let me ask you this? Would would he NOT deserve any credit for beating one of the best WWs out there?
IMO he deserves credit for beating any welterweight, he shouldnt even need to be fighting at this weight level, hes just adding icing on his resume cake.
of course he does. Clottey is a top 5 welterweight. Mayweather and Pac are just light years ahead of everyone at the mo
I bet you based on styles, Clottey gives PBF a pretty tough fight. Much better showing than Mosley, that's for sure.
yes, at first i was a little disappointed, but then again, nobody has ever shut out clottey like that. the guy arguably beat margarito and cotto. that's pretty damn impressive in my eyes.
Co-sign. Not to mention he looked amateurish at times throwing wild arm shots not landing a thing, while getting blasted by straight right hands. That was a horrible and very forgetable match.
In what way? Clottey was an average opponent who's career highlight is beating a past prime Judah, he has little punching power and is too lethargic to beat anyone with any sort of workrate on points, the fact Pacquiao went off at 1/10 in some places suggests I wasn't the only one who thought Clottey had no chance going into this one. As for being one of the best welters out there, I wouldn't rate him above Pac, Floyd, Mosley, Cotto, Berto, Margo or Williams if he could get down, which leaves him the best of a bad bunch which are the other welters. He deserves about as much credit as Mayweather gets for beating Baldomir, which isn't a lot.
