Its not so much that he tried that hard because he already had a psychological advantage going into the fight as evidenced by Clottey guarding the whole damn fight. He was to ashamed to be embarrased like Pacquiaos previous opponents. Kinda like how floyds opponents try to box him and not fight their own game(mosley and gatti). What convinced these fighters to march to mayweathers tune instead of their own. Irregardlessly even if they fought their own fight (Cotto-Pac/Hatton-Mayweather) the result is still the same just makes for a more exciting fight. Oh yeah and I always give credit for a fighter if he takes on someone in the top 10 of his weight division regardless of how it turns out, its not his fault he gave that fighter a chance. I don't give Floyd credit for marquez because that was just sad on both their parts.
Yes Clottey is a tough, big welterweight who had never been defeated convincly Pac dominated him He deserves all the credit for that
a lightweight beating a top big welter... yes! he deserves much credit... the problem was he made it look easy. Pac is too good for his own good.
