This question needs to be asked to the p4p commission.

    Controversial means debatable.

The pac v marquez fight was debatable. Hence controversial.

    con·tro·ver·sial
    adjective
    1.
of, pertaining to, or characteristic of controversy; polemical: a controversial book.
    2.
subject to controversy; debatable: a controversial decision.
    3.
    given to controversy; disputatious.

I can't be more clearer than this.

ok mybad. i was actually thinking that "controversial" is not of the same meaning with "debatable". but still you cannot actually say that it's a controversial or debatable fight in the sense that it is not a close fight. most actually agree that it's close unless you are divac. also fights like this would not drop down a fighter's stock unless that it was an outright robbery.

If Pacman and JMM puts out a top notch performance then even if Pacman struggles he gets to keep the # 1 spot.

What's Ortiz and Floyd P4P ranking?

Dumb thread... Oh wait this thread was created by one of the dumbest ***** on the planet.

No. If PAC struggles with JMM and Floyd dominates against Ortiz then Manny will surely drop one or two spots. either Martinez or Floyd will take PAC's crown.

Pac didnt went from not being ranked in the top ten straight to number one just by beating an handpicked opponent.

    Try again.

Floyd defeats Ortiz; Pac wins a close fight against Marquez (and both fighters put on a good performance), I'd still put him at #1 but move Marquez higher:

    1. Pac
    2. Martinez
    3. Marquez
    4. Floyd
    5. Donaire

But if Pac loses a close but clear decision against Marquez:

    1. Martinez
    2. Floyd
    3. Marquez
    4. Pac
    5. Donaire

But if Marquez shuts out Pac (very unlikely though):

    1. Marquez
    2. Martinez
    3. Floyd
    4. Pac
    5. Donaire

IMO, Floyd needs to do more than defeat an Ortiz to take the #1 spot and overtake Martinez.

Maybe in that scenario he should face marquez. Oh wait he did that and we saw what happened.

To be the man, you have to defeat the man. If Marquez shuts out Pac, he clearly deserves to replace Pac at #1. Besides, the Marquez-Floyd fight would have been more than 2 years ago.

You mean if Manny beats a p4p top 5 future HOFer in another close one and Mayweather schools Victor "Drums" Ortiz... will they rate Floyd higher for that? Shouldn't, but might, I guess.

pac would still be number 1. pac will go down only IF he loses
