Does Pacquiao deserve a showcase fight?

Don't get me wrong. I want to see Pac vs PBF

more than anyone, but in a way, I kind of think Manny deserves a showcase fight. Every fighter has has them...ESB's hero Shane Mosley had three after he burst into the spotlight after beating Oscar De La Hoya the first time.

A showcase fight could open even more eyes as to who Pacquiao is, and it could earn him a decent payday, and a well deserved break without him actually taking a break...heh, heh. Plus, if Pacquiao retires after he beats Mayweather, that would be one extra time we get to see this guy fight.

How many fighters have fought so many top tier fighters consecutively? Out of Pac's last ten fights, only two guys are known by only hardcore fans - Oscar Larios and Jorge Solis. I'll admit that David Diaz might be pushing it, but the point is, almost everybody Pacquiao has fought in the last three years is a household name. Doesn't this guy deserve one - just ONE showcase fight, especially if Pac - PBF isn't scheduled until late in 2010?

My ideal showcase fight for Pac would be against Edwin Valero. It should be on free HBO, and would have a decent amount of drama due to Valero's incredible perfect KO percentage. Yeah, yeah, Valero would have to gain a lot of weight, but **** it. That's why they call it a SHOWCASE FIGHT! But if that fight did happen, it would be a showcase, alright...Pac would knock him out in a round or two.

The name...the avatar. Either you really, really like Tszyu, or you really are him. If so...you made me laugh when you KO'd Judah, but highly disappointed me in quitting against Hatton. And if not...man, you really like Tszyu. The name and the avatar? Wow.

Pacquiao can retire now and shouldnt be questioned about it.

Pac can do anything he wants, but what makes Pac so loved by his fans is he continues to give them what they want and more. No question about it he will try to make the fight with Floyd next because that is what the fans want.

Pac wanted to fight D.Diaz at 135 first then fight the JMM rematch afterwards because he was draining himself at 130, but because of pressure from his fans he drained himself to make 130 and went on to fight a great fight with an elite fighter.

The man sacrifices himself to satisfy his fans, and for that he deserves all the praise he gets.

That is pretty funny, but I assume you are joking. Cotto was a tough fight...not a showcase by any means. When I say showcase, I mean a fight against a opponent who isn't dangerous, but simply there to make the other guy look good, and earn himself a bit of a payday.

Pac's got too much on his plate right now. He's already working on his movie career, a singing career, and even a political career. I don't know how he's going to squeeze in a boxing career when he's too busy to train. After the pbf bout, he'll probably call it quits.
