He is an atg. Hes as elite as you can get, like special company with all of them greats before him. Anyone that didn't like prime Pac is insecure and feel threatened
The thread title and the question are two different things; no, Manny is not an ATG and yes, I loved his style in his prime- he was exhilarating! My take, which is always the right one, is that no post 80’s fighters can be considered all time greats due to the fact that’s there’s now 70% more weight classes, championship fights have 20% less rounds and they no longer have same day weigh ins and there are at least four sanctioning organizations that hand out belts. And in Manny’s, Floyd’s and Roy’s cases there are too many PED speculations that are legitimate. Manny and the other two are definitely HOF worthy and modern greats that may have been able to compete in the past but modern boxing has changed enough to make it far easier to achieve greater statistical numbers without the backing substance.
Hell no! What possible reason would people have to speak about him in an ATG sense? He would lose to almost everyone in the top echelons of boxing.
I can't say I agree, but I respect it. Personally my only issue with Manny is his kung fu bounce. What the hell is the damn point of using boxing theory to corner a man against the ropes then bounce around like yer ****in' Bruce Lee to give that cornered man space to leave the ropes? Just a really nice fella?
So you will deduct points for peoples weakness's ? Shall we deduct points of Pep for having no power or aggression ? No Boxer is complete but some have "Strengths" that make up for their weakness'. Pacman's aggression and speed made up for his lack of lateral movement/Jab.
Are you trying to imply Pacquiao is not an ATG because he needs glasses? Interesting argument. Can't say I agree with you, but I respect your opinion.
