Does Pacquiao-Margarito make you think maybe Margo didn't cheat vs Cotto?

    Before the Pacquiao vs Margarito fight, I was like 99% of the people on here who would bet the house on Margo having used loaded wraps vs Cotto.

    But after the Pacquiao vs Margarito fight, I'm starting to have my doubts.

    Margarito is a bigger man than both Pacquiao and Cotto, and he knows how to throw a fierce uppercut and a heavy bodyshot. Although his punches didn't wobble the iron-chinned Pacman, Manny admitted afterwards that the bigger man's shots did carry some sting.

    Cotto has been hurt and dropped a few times, and his face seems prone to swelling and bleeding.

    Surely if Margarito had been using loaded wraps for years, he'd have been brutally stopping or at least seriously hurting guys like Paul Williams and Joshua Clottey as well, as he landed a lot of leather in both of those fights?


    I'm not saying Margo didn't load vs Cotto, I'm just starting to wonder about it? :think

    What do others think?

    Margarito form the Pac fight would have wrecked Cotto again.

    ^ Yep. Wraps or no wraps Tony is a bad style matchup for Cotto. And Cotto's punch reistance was never great.

    I defo would like to watch it again. :good
    (I think both still have enough to BRING a "FOTY" type in a rematch)

    But can Margarito still get up "mentally" after the Manny fight?
    (He came back from the Mosley fight... But)

    Agreed. Margarito would be desperate to prove he beat Cotto because he was the better man on the night, Cotto would be desperate for revenge and redemption. It would be one hell of a fight, I'd love to see it.

    I think Margo will recover. He seemed defiant in his post-fight interview, and he must now realize that Pacquiao is a special fighter who could do that to virtually anyone. I bet Margo would still fancy his chances vs Cotto, and he'd get himself fired up for it.

    I was already of the opinion that Antonio Margarito wasn't "loaded" for his fight with Miguel Cotto.

    That being said, I wouldn't be surprised to see Miguel Cotto come out victorious in a rematch.

    the margo that fought pacquiao would have ended cotto's career imo

    I never believed Margo was loaded vs Cotto.

    The way Pac busted up Cotto's face showed how prone Cotto is to swelling and bleeding.

    What won Margo that fight was his chin, stamina and relentlessness. He took the best Cotto had to offer, wore it and then ground Cotto down.

    Cotto hit Margarito a lot, but nearly as much, as often, and as accurately as Pacquiao did. And Cotto was a lot easier for Marg to catch than Manny was...

    ...with that being said, the fight didn't prove Marg's hands weren't packing plaster vs Cotto. I'm still on the "I'm not sure" side of things. The biggest thing that makes me doubt if AM wore plaster against Cotto is that after the fight, he walked around with his wraps exposed for the world to see. Not something someone hiding something would do.

    i think,he did load and did cheat in some fights possibly,but he was and is a hard puncher without using them.

    but with them added to his hard punching anyway he felt like superman so just walked through people with confidence tht his power and loaded gloves would defeat people.
