    http://boxing.fanhouse.com/2009/12/22/will-kelly-pavlik-vs-paul-williams-happen/

With the latest information coming out that Paul Williams and Dan Goosen now seem to be running away from Kelly Pavlik and back towards 147 lbs following Williams uneven performance against Sergio Martinez at 154 lbs, boxing fans are left to wonder what happened to the supposed "Most Feared Man in Boxing" and the guy who seemed eager to fight the middleweight king.

Has Paul Williams become the "Most Fearful Man in Boxing" following his chin-checking at the hands of Martinez? What is your opinion of Williams now that Bob Arum and Pavlik called Williams out last weekend and Williams seems to have abandoned ship on the Pavlik fight and ducked Pavlik? Was Williams just a hype job as a potential MW challenger, or is Paul justified in ducking the Pavlik bout?

This has got to be the worst thread in ESB history!

I would have respected your thread just a little more if you had atleast gave people the option: Do you think Paul Williams is ducking Pavlik!

Every option states PW is ducking KP!?!?

But this is to be expected of you Pavlik fans!!:-:)verysad:-(

But you don't need to be anything special to beat Williams.......except roughly the same size as him. Which is why Pavlik will KO him.:bbb

I don't think it's 'ducking' so much as the Martinez fight was a reality check. I said after that fight that I don't think a Pavlik bout will happen now - Previously, Pavlik was pretty obviously not keen on fighting Williams, hence the second pull-out and easy fight scheduled a week later. Post-Martinez, I think it's become clear to most that Pavlik would have an extremely good chance of shattering Williams' questionable chin and that it's best such a fight doesn't happen. That's why the Pavlik camp want it so much now.

That goofy fvck Wlliams has fought nothing but guys who are smaller than him....every one...........he is a southpaw, and he isn't that good. When he gets tagged by a guy his own size, he will crumble like a house of cards.

i honestly think that peterson/williams think they can win this fight (i disagree of course). and b/c i think that...i also think that this is just one of many negotiating tools that promoters use. all they are doing is showing arum that they have options. not too long ago pbf "wanted m. hatton" and pac "wanted yuri"...

its all business and $$ until the opening bell. that is all this is. getting leverage (or trying to) with a public statement.

they already said if the fight is 50-50 and there is some insurance money the deal will be done...

its up to arum to accept that... why are some of you people expecting paul to sign up for the same contract that he had before? after pavlik and his camp acting totally unprofessional.... and williams tried to put up with it.... he is owed something for pavlik ****ing aroudn the first time

    last fight was approx 40-60

45-55 is realistic to me... and the insurance money "IF" the fight doesnt come off like last time (which wouldnt happen anyways)

    He's a smart man.

when the poll options are so grossly biased towards the OP's favor, you know he's a joke and is probably trying to start a bunch of controversey. but then again, paulfv is a known troll. so im not to suprised he started a thread like this.

    Williams is NOT ducking Pavlik.

Williams is not a Middleweight; and, whilst I'd love to see Pavlik's rep go up, that fight would be pointless. Pavlik would knock him out in the first four rounds. Williams can't duck someone who's not in his weight class.

Team Pavlik ballsed things up once already. Pdub was ready to go. If he wanted to duck Pavlik, he had plenty of opportunity to do it. The fact that he signed to fight someone who was always going to knock his lights out says enough about the bloke.

Plus, he has business to take care of at 154.
