Does Pavlik really hit that much harder than BHop?

BHop dropped Tarver + Calzaghe @175. Pavlik has got a great KO% but @160. He was landing shot after shot on Miranda but had to grind him down rather than just take him out, he won't be able to land on Calzaghe like that.

Personally I wouldn't say he hits much harder than a 175 version of Hopkins.

IMO despite the two division difference, Pavlik definitely hits harder than Hopkins. It's just that Hopkins is much more tricky, slick and elusive than he is and was able to catch Calzaghe at a perfect time

Well yeah, and that's the only way it's ever been done to Miranda so far. AA regarded as having huge one shot bombs landed, even wobbled, but never dropped Miranda. Not like Miranda has a glass chin.

Are we comparing 160 Pavlik vs 175 Hopkins? If so, then Pavlik is only a marginally harder puncher. If we are talking 160 pavlik vs 160 BHop or 175 vs 175 for that matter, then I think Pavlik hits MUCH harder.

Also remember if Pavlik and Calzaghe meet, it will probably be at 168. Pavlik will almost certainly gain power moving up 8 pounds, whereas, Joe will have to cut 6 or 7.

Just like Calzaghe, so why do many on here think he's gonna walk through Calzaghe.

I doubt he will gain power just because he is moving up in weight though

Why do so many think Calzaghe's gonna walk right thru Pavlik?

Would be a fun fight, but looks like Jones Jr. is already being lined up.

Pavlik is obviosuly a bigger one punch hitter than Hop.

Hopkins through a sweet, perfectly times right hand that Joe didnt see, plus he walked into it, it was a flash knock down, Hopkins knew he didnt have he too badly hurt. Jc has been hit hard in the past by bigger shots and not gone down.

It also Pavlik game plan to walk guys down and unload with big shots, that isnt Hops plan, Hopkins has a better boxing brain. Thats why Hop did not take one step TOWARd Calzaghe as he knew Joe loves guys who come forward.

Calzaghe beats Pavlik and looks like a legend doing so.:deal

I don't think Pavlik will walk through Calzaghe, but i do think he has a much better chance than Hopkins.

I don't think many people think that. They think he will outsmart him.

No, but I do believe that Pavlik loses more muscle than fat cutting to 160. Generally, every pound of weight that is lost is 60% muscle and only 40% fat. I think that he'll have more snap.

Joe does have YEARS of experience on Pavlik, no arguing that. But IMO, Pavlik is a lot better than most are thinking. :hey

Styles make fights. You cant go on the Hopkins performance and use it as a reason as why Kelly would beat Joe. Pavlik is more of a Lacy than a Hopkins.

He hits harder but you can hit what you can't see. Do you think Pavlik has ever put someone off-balance to land a perfect one-two like Bernard did? Counter-punching is not the best weapon in Pavlik's arsenal. :)

He hits harder than Hopkins. Hopkins' timing and accuracy is better. Vs. Joe Calzaghe, the second one is the better weapon.
