  1. Can he pull a Leon Spinks type of upset.

I'm giving him a very good chance in this fight though I'm not surprised a lot of people are calling him off based on his defense and Wladimir's punching power but he has a great chance.

    No.

    Far too open. Too small.

Wlad will pick him off with the jab all night.

I think its possible, but very unlikely. The only way I see Alex winning is if he KO's Wlad which is possible, but I just don't see it happening.

The problem is - how does he close the distance? He doesn't have the vetern's cannyness, he doesn't have the pyhsical equipment nor does he have the speed.

    So how?

If he was about a 3 inches taller, I'd give him a much greater chance. I really like his style but unfortunately I doubt he#ll pull the upset off.

  7. He's not an exciting fighter. After seeing his fights with Chambers and Byrd he might be able to hold Wlad off

I think his speed (of hand) is underrated. Sure he's not the fastest but fast enough, however his size is his let down.

He's actually one of the few heavyweights I enjoy watching.

Like most of Wlad's oppenents, he has at least a punchers chance, it doesnt take much to put Wlad on his back. Though I cant really see him winning this fight, Wlad will just pick him off with the jab and if he tries getting on the inside, Wlad will just clinch. I feel Povetkins strategy should be to make it a sloppy fight, keep punching when Wlad clinches, get dirty on the inside, Wlad has a hard time winning tough fights, look at his match against Peter, he looked in trouble numerous times during that fight.

The only way for most, if not all fighters to beat Wlad, is to make him feel uneasy in there, make him panic, aim for that glass chin on the inside. I think Povetkin got a chance, he just needs to be tough in there.

He has the speed, workrate and stamina. He does close the distance very well too as he successfully did it with guys like Byrd and Chambers. The man has experience and his amateur record is the proof, they could have easily went for another champion, Peter(before his loss to Vitali)/Valuev but they went for Wladimir so they must know something we don't.

That's your opinion then, I think he's far too underrated either because people haven't seen enough of him or he's just not promoted well enough.

He has absolutely no chance whatsoever.
