rofl...Povetkin has about the same chance as your boy Mccain does :yep:rofl

i've seen enough video on both fighters to feel very comfortable in a Wlad KO between rounds 7-9. Wlad is not unbeatable but Sasha lacks the one-punch power to put Wlad into 'panic mode'. Unless he has a concrete chin, i expect a pretty one-sided affair. The key to this fight is Wlad's foot movement which doesn't allow opponents to get set. That jab is gonna bust up Povetkin something awful. I give Sasha about a 10% chance.

    Avatar bet aplenty...

That means u cachibatches, scar, huki, cardstars, ambtion. U will all be sporting avatars with the Klitschkos in 'compromising' positions. Punisher and Fightingweight are always welcomed for a second helping :yep

They went for Wlad because they want the most money obviously and yes Povetkin probably believes he can win. But he is made to order for Wlad and will be stopped between Rds 6-8.

Wlad is a big favorite in this fight. Povetkin looks to be a solid heavyweight and does have a style that could bother Wlad. The problem is size and Povetkin's trouble closing the gap. He's going to get hit a lot trying to get inside. The fight should be fairly entertaining, clearly more than the Thompson and Sultan's fights were. But I like Wlad by late ko.

this is good point. $3.3 million as a friggin mandatory. hopkins and pavlik got less than that :yikes

like it or not, it goes to show u the influence of the klits. looks like Haye was wrong again when he said wlad couldn't generate the big bucks without him :yep

Thanks, but no thanks. I agree, it will more and likely be a one sided affair. I still believe Povetkin can make it a tough fight if he wants to, and is willing to eat alot of jabs to get on the inside, where he can possibly hurt the glass chinned Wlad.

The only way to beat Wlad, is to make it a sloppy fight, a one where Wlad gets pressured and is forced to fight instead of box, which IMO could work in the favor of the much tougher Povetkin.

I can't avatar bet because I forgot how to change my avatar. But how about a public apology thread bet?

Povetkins throws 70 punches a round- that is going to trouble Walddy's stamina.

Wladdy is going to whack Alex out of there? Based on what? The twelve round with Ibragimov? The ten with the Tiger? Wladdy has been fighting tentative, and that is going to trouble him.

As for Povetkin not having power, no one has claimed that he is s huge puncher, but he has a higher knock out ratio than Peter, and against better chins, so he's got something.

As for Mccain...well...check the latest info out of Pennslyvania, and the latest Rasmussen on Ohio and Florida.

Povetkin and McCain are both live dogs.

well go to quick links, edit profile, and edit avatar :D. if u want a public apology thread too, i'll do it both for Povetkin and Mccain, no problem...i will apologize to u personally

that output will be severely limited to wlad's foot movement, length, jab and clinching.

Based on Wlad's track record against orthodox straight-line attacking fighters like Brewster and Peter. He gave them horrific beatings and only their chins saved them for brutal ko's. Povetkin is more skliled than both but only in close. Wlad keeps this fight at mid and long-range. He doesn't have their power either.

I'm not saying Povetkin has no power but he doesn't have heavy hands. He is very sharp puncher inside but I don't think he has the one punch power to hurt wlad. That means he has to land combinations and that is very difficult against wlad for the above mentioned reasons.

well, i know CNN said Obama is up 13 pts in Penn. they use several reliable polls to come to an average. he's up 9 nationally. Realclearpolitics does the same. Looking at individual Polls like Rasmussen (cough, rightwing) aren't the best measure imo...the GOP seems to be giving up in colorado too. even the campaign acknowledges they must swing pennslyvania to even have a shot. good luck...they haven't gone RED since '88. And with states like Mizzou and Virginia going BLUE for the first time in forever, don't count on it :yep

    President B. Hussein Obama :!:

But their both in the kennel about to be put down:yep :good

He is quite small, but is quite robust. Povetkin fights like a bulldog, and I think this fact will give Wlad alot of problems. Quite possibly a TKO win for Povetkin.

However, if Wlad is aware of this, and is able to keep Povetkin at a distance with his jab, then it will be a nightmare for Povetkin.

Little or none, imo. And when Wlad beats him those boosting him now will say he was nothing.

Yeah, that would be sad, but they aren't really fans of the sport, so who cares?

I know this isn't the point of the thread, but Haye has said a lot of stupid things like that. Wlad is easily the biggest money producer in the heavyweight division. Just because the money currency isn't always $'s doesn't mean he isn't making mad bank.

Those of you giving Povetkin no shot really surprise me. Look I know that Klitschko is the favorite going into this fight, and rightfully so, but this serious downgrading of Povetkin's abilities surprises me.

For starters Povetkin is faster than Klitschko, anyone who thinks he doesn't have better handspeed is horribly delusional and is too easily swayed by his physique. He also has mobility to match Klitschko, which wasn't evident in the Chambers fight but has been in his other fights. His defense is much better than he is being given credit for, as BigCat said he is very hard to hit cleanly. He doesn't have tremendous one punch power, but he has a high KO percentage and enough pop to cause Wladimir to panic if he can land flush.

I firmly believe Povetkin is the best fighter that Wladimir has ever fought, he has the best combination of skill, physical talent, determination and success at the amateur and professional level that Wladimir has ever faced.

I think Povetkin has an excellent chance at beating Klitschko, and would not be at all surprised if he wins. If Klitschko does blow him out I will be very impressed.

I don't think so, but to give Povetkin a better chance of winning, provided he can survive the early Klitschko storm, which would continue all throughout the fight, would be to clinch a lot and try some inside fighting. It's a shame Wladimir rarely uses the uppercut, it gives people like Ruiz a chance to survive in there if they can do so.
