Surely setting up submissions with striking, doesn't take away from the submission. It's a great tactic.
The only way to beat someone like prime Tito is to outwrestle him. He only lost to a better wrestler in Couture and the at the time untakedownable Liddell, when he was anything like prime. Tito was a solid 225 and only cared about takedowns; I think people forget how explosive and fast he was before his knees went. Theres no way hed be a macho man like Hendo either. There is also no evidence of Tito struggling wih submission guys, or anythat Silva is some sort of ground wizard, despite his vaunted jiu jitsu belt.
It would probably look a lot like prime Tito vs Chuck, although Silva doesn't have that kind of takedown defense, but he does have a good enough guard to at least last out the round without getting stopped and eventually get his shots in and end the fight.
Tito had only been training and fighting for 2 years and he was winning until he gassed I dont put a whole lot into that fight.
