Paul Williams was not listening to his corner in the fight with Martinez. PW blew the trainer off one of the interviews when asked about not getting to the body. PW laughed and sortof shrugged off the suggestion.

It seems to me that PW was not in top form for this fight. I know Martinez is fast but PW looked a little slow to me. He was wide open defensively and didn't use his jab enough. I don't know the details of his corner.

Is it time for him to make a change?

He has ONE loss. Why would we be discussing his trainer. He'd struggled with quick lefties. Not a lot of those out there for him to worry about.

He should have been more prepared than that. He wasn't getting told to use the jab just to go to the body. He needed to stay outside and set up his combinations with the jab. But my point was that he was blowing the guy off. Maybe he doesn't have the respect that he needs to for hios teacher

No, but Cotto does. It's not his trainer's fault if williams will not listen to him.

Paul needs someone that he will respect and listen to, sometimes the chemistry wears out. Not saying anything bad about the trainer but communication is everything

Manny could make him the middleweight champion in three years, maybe.

manny once had a free swinging, physically gifted, athletic, yet very fundamentally flawed fighter and he got an ass whippin painted on him by.....:yep

however, in the rematch when ozell had the reigns...he looked the best ive seen him.

the guys williams has know him the best.

This has always been his style...fight short and look to trade. He has never used his height and reach advantage. I don't know if Manny can do anything for him at this stage. He's still a great fighter regardless.
