Rigo is still not a PPV attraction ala Floyd despite having similar styles.

Does Rigo need to start talking trash and acting the heel to get more people to watch him fight?

I like him the way he is. Floyd acts like a jackass.

His level of confidence is pretty much on par.

He has the personality for it. He's talked trash about Donaire. Whenever I could get a translation of him, he was a pretty funny guy

Not every man is willing to act like an imbecile for the sake of getting money. Whether Rigo is or isn't I don't know, but he doesn't seem like the type.

As boring as people say Mayweather is, his fights are a lot more entertaining than Rigo's. Hes also fighting bigger names and is more talented. Trash talking can only take you so far. You have to entertain inside the ring as well, and take on big names.

He doesn't speak English or very little of it. This may be a limiting factor, it will be hard to get casual fans to ever like him. defense first style plus language barrier will be a problem.

Also, to be a true STAR in boxing, in America, you have generally needed to make the journey up to Welterweight (A couple of exceptions). Rigo really shouldn't ever go above 122, even though I could see him being successful at FW against better judgment despite size disadvantages.

Rigo needs to find his niche and a way to draw attention to himself. I am tired of all these boring ass fighters trying to act like their **** dont stink. Since Boxing is an individual sport it needs personalities and/or a strong story to draw attention.

Nobody can be like Floyd because people will know it was only an act. Mayweather's brilliance is that he is the man everyone loves to hate, he knows because of his style he would never be the "Golden Boy", so he is the bad boy. you got all those fools on here calling him names and talking **** about him but they are the first in line to buy his fights. point is if you cannot relate to someone it is easy to hate someone.

in order to become a draw he needs to create an emotional connection with the fans. he has to become a hero or a heel . . . it will be hard to be a hero because he is a defensive, slick and foreign fighter who does not speak english. that all being said he does not have the personality to be a heel, so it would be very hard for him to become a cross-over figure

No he just needs to counter punch more instead of just moving

Rigo should only look to get more big fights around his weight class that pay well enough and in the process solidify himself as the ATG his talent suggests he should be.
