Does RJJ have a chance in hell against The Mighty Adamek?

    No, in retrospect, that was a bad move.

    I guess he figured he could make the jump after Toney did, but I remember even at the time questioning the decision of that move.

    What happened to Jirov? The last fight of his I actually remember watching was against Joe Mesi, when he started making a late rally that ultimately derailed Mesi's aspirations.

    I would say that Adamek SHOULD win, but anything could happen..The reason that I say that is because Adamek fights at a slow pace, which would allow Jones a chance to fight when he wants to, if allowed to do that Jones COULD beat him.

    We have been over this time and time again. Adamek is a slow fighter, he has fairly slow hands and he doesnt look to throw many punches. Now go ahead and bring up his fight with Briggs as if that is the norm for Adamek. :roll:

    truth is fighting either Hopkins or Jones isnt the smartest move he could make. One if he wins over Jones he would get no credit, but he has the kind of style that Jones needs at his age. A slow pace, that will allow Jones to fight in spots and not fight or defend in spots.

    I think you have Adamek out to be more anemic than he actually is. He always brings the action and is undoubtedly one of the most exciting fighters in the sport.

    I'd be surprised if Jones made it to the halfway point.

    Regardless, I hope the fight happens, for I would love to see Jones get bludgeoned one last time, especially if it were by Adamek.

    I never really gave it much thought, but you are correct. Adamek is more accomplished.

    This is prompting another thread from me just moments away. Although, you make a good point about the general forum, so I am heading to the classics for this one.

    He aint the fastest but he sure as hell aint slow.Then again what kind of speed are we comparing his to?His speed is more than sufficient enough for CW.

    Depending on the opponent his punch output changes.I always said he has a bit of Dr.Jekyl Mr Hide thing going.I think he has fallen in love with his power at Cruiser and looks for more KO's now than he did before.At LHW he threw way more combos and had a higher output.

    Good post. I agree, Adamek's output & strategy seems to vary by opponent, and he certainly seems to love knocking people out at cruiser.

    Adamek is an exciting fighter, but its not really do the the amount of shots he throws or his style, but because he is easy to hit, and has very good power, so he is always in fights because of that. My problem with him is you can make all the excuses you want, but when he was in the ring with an elite fighter he got outclassed. I could see a guy getting caught and knocked out but to be outclassed the way that he was isnt a good sign. It seems that you and a few other are ignoring that small detail.

    I dont think that you re-invented the wheel with that statement, most fighters do change depending on the opponent. Briggs was a guy that stood right in front of Adamek and traded with him. More fighters arent going to do that, so he throws more punches. If he is facing a guy that is looking to box he follows the guy around the ring, and looks to land one heavy shot at a time while eating a buffet of shots on the way in.

    Adamek is a solid fighter, dont get me wrong, but he isnt an elite fighter, and as such WHO he fights is very important.

    Yes, but he started figuring things out towards the end, and regardless, he has since gone on to beat some pretty good fighters. Most fans consider him top 15-20 P4P, and I reckon he has the potential to move up those mythical charts before all is said and done.

    Seriously?

    Regardless, I really hope this fight happens. Watching Adamek beat the **** out of that clown Jones would be a real pleasure.
