Does RJJ have a chance in hell against The Mighty Adamek?

    i'll beat rico to it, and say that adamek shatters roy's glass jaw all over the ring.

    and i agree with rumsfeld, rjj's resume lacks some of the bigger names in the divisions he fought in. he never took many risks in his career, and sad to say, he seems to want to make up for that in the twilight of his career by talking up all of these fights. with his gifts, he could have been (and should have been) the greatest. which is what my main gripe in regards to rjj.

    He might not quite be elite in my eyes, either, but that all depends on what you mean by "elite".

    Well he's not elite in your mind because he aint a prime undefeated Roy or Floyd.The rest of the Boxing World doesnt set such a high standard for fighters which is why Adamek get's plenty of love.Aside form being exciting he is beating WHO HE SHOULD.:hi:

    Roy prime beats him pretty badly. Today, exactly the opposite. A KO for Adamek is close to a sure bet, unless Roy puts his shoes on.

    I'm curious how he would define "elite"?

    I'm not sure that I would quite consider Adamek "elite", either. At least not yet.

    But I do, however, consider him one of the 15 best in the sport, bar none, and it when it comes to raw entertainment value, the list gets even shorter.

    Elite fighters should be able to beat them all. That dont mean that they should win every fight. What Im saying is if a certain style always causes a fighter to lose a fight then he isnt an elite fighter. I will use Margo as an example. Whenever he fought guys that were his size didnt win fights. If he was an elite fighter he should have been able to beat fighters that were bigger, but he cant.

    Adamek is to me that kind of fighter. If you put a guy in front of him that will box and use angle Adamek is in for a long night.

    I don't know. The talks of a fight w/ Lacy don't help. Or that the Lacy fight is a winnable one for Jones. Do I think he's serious about Adamek? :think

    You're passing judgment on Adamek prematurely.

    You don't know for a fact that he cannot beat that kind of style. I happen to believe he can beat Dawson, especially at 200 should that happen somewhere down the line.

    Regardless, that's a pretty narrow-minded view on what constitutes an elite, IMO.

    So someone like Joe Frazier is not elite, by your standard? Hell, using your standard an argument can be made that Jones isn't elite.

    If you put Hopkins in there with a fighter with a high workrate and southpaw stance(they can even slap)he will always lose.He aint elite.

    Put Roy in there with an old big mouthed power punching bald former dopehead southpaw he will always lose or almost lose...he aint elite.
