People talk about how great a trainer Roach is. But sometimes I wonder, how much of it is actually Roach and how much of it is actually Pac. All Roach can do is get Pac in shape, but Pac is the one in the ring. So what I'm asking is, does Roach actually have any affect on Pac's greatness?
hmm says... Yes! The documentary interview for the fight buildup for Pac-EM 3 on youtube, I think it was Roach that said Pacquiao was turned down by every gym when he was trying to find someone to promote a breakthrough in the U.S. Pac started from the East Coast until he reached Freddie's Wild Card in the West. ****in lottery ticket just walked through the door. Their relationship is mutual; Roach presents the opportunity (big fights) and it's up to Pac to win. I'll try to find the vid again.
It's a team. When your dick get's some *****, even your toe get's some. (It's part of the squad, Even tho he's benched)
hmm says... here's the vid. Pac's segment starts at 2:15, mentioned at 2:50 This content is protected
Of course, without Roach Pac would be a good fighter, but not the kind of fighter he is today. He would've been much easier to hit and figure out.
I wasn't trying to dog on Roach just to let you know, but we know ali for himself, not his trainer. Which is why I asked.
I understand, but Angelo Dundee is a very well known and great trainer. But I understand Roach has taken a lot of credit, although he himself says it should be more about the fighters and not the trainers. :good
