Does Roach see something we don't with Cotto vs Martinez? He did with Pac vs DLH

If Cotto trades with Sergio, he'll be knocked out by the 5th round.

Seriously, who was the last world class fighter Cotto traded with and came out on the better side of it?

Unfortunately, Cotto doesn't have a few more fights. He's got until his next fight.

IMO, Cotto's problem aren't really gameplan related. They are a execution related. He doesn't have the chin, pop, or stamina to be this stalking, body snatcher his fans seem to perceive him to be.

Roach sees a considerably declined Martinez -at least he hopes he will see the same Sergio that struggled mightily against Martin Murry, against a re-tooled Cotto, re-tooled specifically for this fight. It is a HUGE fight, especially in NYC. Even if Cotto gets KTFO, he went up and challenged Sergio.

all of roach's thrash talk on oscar against pac was just to legitimize their fight. as the fight got closer roach was saying that if oscar even weighs a shade over 147, he will pull pac out of the fight, if oscar ever stuns pac, he will quickly throw in the towel.

people have to remember that a lot of sports people were in an uproar that this fight was a circus/mismatch for oscar....much, much worse than khan's chance of beating floyd right now.

oscar was grossly dehydrated or drained for the pacman fight. he killed his self to make weight and was nothing more then a punching bag. roach did not have to do anything special to beat oscar that night. same thing with margarito, he had never fought a 154 before but was suspended for a yr and had a fight in mexico at 160 i think. he fights manny at 150 so as big as he is he killed his self to make weight and the yr off did not help him either.

im rooting for cotto but i think marintez will stop him. sergio has struggled with the big mw but cotto want be to big or strong for him like a chavez jr and other fighters around that size. if cotto was a mover and could box on the outside and win rds he would have a better chance. but i think he will come straight ahead and try to rip shots to sergio body and he head. behind his jab and hooking when hes on the inside. i think even though martinez is older i dont see cotto beating him or even finishing the fight.

if im wrong i will be glad. thats a great win for cotto i think.

I think Roach sees inactivity and injuries in the case of Martinez, and may think the time is right. In DLH case it was simple, drain him down to a weight he hadn't fought at in 8-9 years prior to fighting Pacquiao. Or maybe he just believes that his fighter is the better of the two.

if macklin, murray, barker didn't fade late, they would have outboxed sergio.

if cotto doesn't fade late, i see him getting a close ud.

light heavy and cruiserweight are not as fast or in my opinion as skilled as the 160 and below. Also in my opinion Mathew Saad was on his way down when he lost to Qawi.

In any case Cotto is not a strong fighter 154 and he is going to be even less effective at 160.

cashing out?? on a loss?? regardless of his winning record?? dont be so stupid:rofl Roach has enough money and pride in a win means more to him than a devasting loss at this stage of his career. Well it should:deal:deal:deal
