Is Roach viewing Cotto as another DLH? Is this what has him so confident? We have the strong punches of Cotto, the lead left jab and the left hook, just like DLH. Both fighters orthodox stances but converted southpaws, both prefer to move forward than to move back.

    Thoughts...

Roach view Pac as genuinely getting better, bigger and stronger. With DLH he knows hes been past prime for 10 years

He might see things in Cotto he's not willing to discuss until after the fight. That's what I think.

True but the Hoya Pac trained for was the Hoya from 10 years ago. Stylistically, that one might show up Sat. night.

How can you say that, those are things that Hoya can do "well" 10 years ago and Roach certainly knew he cant pull the trigger anymore and even if he did, hed get beaten to the punch all day. Cotto can still execute that style now

Yes, I agree. I just mean I'm sure Roach trained Pac for the worst case scenerio, that DLH would reverse the clock, not train him for a shot old fighter. That's what a good trainer would do. I'm just looking at similarities in a prime for prime sense, although yes, ten years apart. Of course there are dissimilarities, Cotto's high guard which does not get him hit with as many right hands as DLH but which also opens him, the way he bends and holds arms, toward uppercuts, and most telling of all, Cotto has superior footwork to DLH. Just talking theory is all, I'm not saying Cotto will lose like DLH.

Another DLH? Most probably not. Roach is not that dumb.

Cotto is younger, faster and hungrier and have more power than the DLH that Pac fought. Roach should know this.

His confidence is just a showup . . . the truth is . . . he should be worried. But he can't show this because Pac's confidence will be affected too.

Psychological HYPE for Pac's mental condition. :deal

Roach knows it'll be a tough fight, but I think he sees something, and has prepared for, something we don't know about.

    Damn Skippy !!!!

Roach is very worried about this fight....he knows he bit off more than he can chew. Pacquiao thinks its another wipeout of a fighter in decline.

Surprise, Surprise Manny....when you find yourself staring at the ceiling lights in the 7th round...just be proud that you got your ass handed to you by a true welterweight champ !!!

I think Roach doesnt know himself, he is hoping this weight will at least take a toll on Miguels mental toughness, but I dont really think this is the case Cotto is not old can pull the trigger, I think when Roach sat down to study Cotto he started to see that Cotto is a tougher nut to crack than he thinks.

I will admit I bought into the Cotto is not the same fighter ****, when you look at the beating he took, when you think about that fight you remember Cotto waiving a white flag and taking a knee.

Then you have a lesser fighter in jennings in which Cotto took his time with but still knocked out, and Clottey and people suggesting Cotto is not the same becuase he fought competitive with Joshua Clottey they are basicly dis crediting Clottey as a fighter, and when I watched that fight this week I suddenly realized, Cotto is not a damaged fighter, he had a cut very early and dug deep to get this done he placed his shots very well in that fight.

sure he took some shots, but look at it this way, in the 6th round three rounds after that cut happend, Miguel Cotto threw 95 shots in that round....

Roach hopes that this fight is a DLH like fight, but I think he knows to after seeing the recent tapes of Cotto, that this just isnt the case this saturday.
