Does Roger Mayweather have only one strategy against Southpaws?

All i ever heard him say to Floyd is, "Keep walking him down". That's all he says whenever Floyd fight a southpaw. I think it would be a very risky and reckless strategy if he advise Floyd to fight that way against Sergio Martinez or Manny Pacquiao, those two are much more dangerous when their opponents tries to bring the fight to them. I know Manny isn't good at fighting on his back foot, but he has a very unique and awkward style as well as great explosive speed.

I think it is most likely more complex than that. I'm sure they have a specific method he practices with which he walks down a southpaw, and Roger is telling him to keep to that gameplan, I would imagine. I dont think when he says "walk him down" he means to walk into him with his hands down

He was really struggling vs Sanders...Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to put him in with a Southpaw in his 2nd career fight?

Several have tried. Several have failed.

There is no blueprint to beat the Mayweather southpaw-beating blueprint.

I am pretty sure doesnt come up with the game Plan seconds before the fight, so no he doesnt have one stratergy to beat a Southpaw.

most pressure fighters or come forward guys can fight going backwards. thats why roger tells him to walk them down, then can fight doing backwards and im sure it ****s with there mental to have a smaller man walking you down.

A lot of people just guess that Roger and Floyd know each other well enough that simple codewords like "just box his ass" or "fight that motha****a" could mean an array of things behind the scenes they've worked on we haven't seen.

In terms of southpaws, this plan has worked so far, largely because his opponents aren't mobile enough to offset Floyd's aggression and pinpoint accuracy. His bodywork against Judah was quite nasty.

I do remember once Roger saying "go the other way, stop circling left, turn the other way" against Corely, after several rounds quite insistently, but Floyd got the better of him doing the usual.

Roger May wanted Floyd to get experience with southpaws under his belt

It was a better strategy to walk down the lefties he has fought. Zab Judah, the best lefty on his resume, is known for wilting under pressure. There has to be a certain amount of distance in order for southpaws to have the advantages of their different angles. This can be taken away by pressuring or staying closer to them.

He surprised the boxing world by showing ability to fight in the reverse gear against lefties in his most recent fight.

it's harder to land your hook on southpaws

while he hasn't used a strategy against southpaws that primarily relies on boxing backwards; he showed his capabilities for it in his last fight. Many people thought he couldn't box reverse on southpaws before the fight, but he answered that question and proved it wrong. He can back up and still fight them, so this suggests he chooses to walk them down because it's generally the better strategy.

pbf can move backwards. roger does like him to take the iniative more like he did in 3rd round.

i still dont think mayweather looks as good against southpaws. not a knock cuz he still looks pretty good against both stances.
