No comparison among Foreman's power and Baer's.... Max Baer was not a one punch knockout artist, he had to punch you a lot in order to ko you, you can't get away with many clean punches from Foreman.

A Foreman punch would cause catastrophic damage of the levator scapulae

Schmeling most likely would stop Foreman, who was a complete sucker for a good right hand and sneaky counters. Both Ali and Young were able to knock Foreman down and beat the tar out of him. I see Schmeling doing the same.

220 pounds of Foreman is too much for 190 pound Schmeling to contend with.

If Max fought smart and got into the later rounds stamina issue might occur for Foreman, but i realistically do not see Max still standing by then.

If he could beat Louis, even at that stage of his career, then it would be a rash man who dismissed his chances against Foreman.

I don’t see why not he was cagey, very durable and could throw a good right, which George was open to. Till the time of stoppage Schmeling was doing all the boxing but a barbarian will always have his moments on a long enough timeline and Maxie did get through eventually, but just based on the filmed highlights of that fight, I’d say MS has gotten a bad rap by people who haven’t watched it.

Baer was not a neighbourhood palooka either and while their similarities aren’t 1-1 Baer unlike George could throw his wild shots for as many rounds as required, could actually fight inside too, somehow more defensively responsible and If the fight shared a similar rhythm as his one with MB, GF wouldn’t have been in business past the 6th.

Maxie hit harder then Ali, he knew how to move properly, he’d be very safe on the inside with how George worked there and his team knew how to draw up a plan to exploit an opening against the most dangerous boxer of all time which doesn’t hurt.

Based on all the good ATG counter punchers George beat I assume?

Foreman was not some unbeatable God, he was a man, human, he can be hit, he can bleed, he can tired and he can be knockout.

Max Schemlimg is reduced to “LOL he lost to Baer” silence, That Louis fight was a fluke or it was because Louis actually sucked. Pick.

    It was neither.

Louis was a precocious 21 year old, who had literally cleaned out the division in his first 18 months as a professional, and Schmeling was seen as the final formality.

Schmeling obviously departed from the script.

It was not on any level a fluke, it was a a case of an older more experienced fighter, beating a younger phenomenon.

That happens in every walk of life.

Either of the men in that fight, would have posed a serious problem for Foreman.

I think the Louis that lost to Schmeling would’ve likely beaten Big George. Louis was outsmarted, not outbrawled

    Joe Louis too green.
As soon as Joe Louis "matured" we saw the result. It would be no different with Foreman.
