If Pacquiao still gets fighter of the year reward then it's the biggest bs in boxing. It would be a huge disgrace and a huge joke.

Sergio is hands down the fighter of the year and any other pick might as well say "I'm A Dick Rider".

Martinez is definitely the front runner...

But I think it should be mentioned that Giovanni Segura, Juan Manuel Lopez, and F. Montiel all had excellent years and scored big wins in their own right. Wlad continues to dominate the heavyweight scene, and if he scores a third conclusive kayo, that should give him an honorable mention, anyway. Wongjongkam and Gonzalez both enjoyed quality campaigns in 2010, too.

Plus, if Pascal can somehow dominate Hopkins, then he's certainly in the discussion and the topic of who is Fighter of the year becomes even more interesting.

I agree! Just bustin your balls on your choice of words, 'usurp'. Can't usurp something that someone doesn't have. Just me being anal. :smoke

And right now, Martinez SHOULD have the edge over Manny, and most others (till the end of the year at least).

oh **** no.. by beating someone his own size? vs. someone who started at flyweight beating up on a giant welterweight who already beat up Martinez??

Let's get real. There's a middleweight vacuum right now, and two big jr middles have stepped in to fill it.

Is there really much of a debate on this point? Beating Pavlik and Williams trumps beating Clottey and Rockgloves.

fighter of the year so far is easily sergio. and noone else really comes close tbh.
pascal would be a close second if he knocks out hopkins.

fight of the year so far has got to be calderon - segura.

and knockout of the year is definitely sergio vs paul

Sergio's fighter of the year unless Pascal beats Hopkins by clear decision or knockout since Pascal beat a guy a lot of people had #3 pound for pound, Chad Dawson, in his other fight this year and B-Hop destroyed Pavlik so I'd think a big B-Hop victory by Pascal would outdo the Pavlik win by Martinez.
