Does size count even just a little bit?

Why hasnt anyone interviewed trainers of giants like Futch or Stewart and asked them if they incorporated the spinx experiment? That would clear up a lot.

 

I see how you go for polar opposites style wise. Why don't you ask me if I believe a prime HW Chris Byrd would beat Wlad of today. That would be a definite yes going by is last fight against Fury.

 

How do you know they weren't interested? Did Carnera ever ask to work with these trainers? Question.... don't you believe Carnera would have been better trained by Manny Steward?

We've had that debate wether we think Rocky would be successful in today's HW division. I think stylistically he would struggle if he was around. I'd still favour Wlad to beat Marciano wouldn't you?

 

I was going for a sub 200 pound fighter against a past his best champion.

I wouldn't favour Byrd over Wlad personally, I'm not sure he was ever quick enough for even that version.

 

Overcoming father time is easier said than done.

 

Not so hard when certain chemicals are almost certainly injected into ones body....

No I don't think Manny Stewart could do much more with Carnera in the 1930s once he reached the championship. By that time Primo had 80 fights and had been trained by a lot of good coaches.

If primo had access to steroids and other stuff that shows most of the top heavyweights failing drugs tests I am sure Primo would be a much more effective super heavyweight than he was. He would not need Manny Stewart for that.

 

Steroids? The man was huge? Steward would have definitely improved him if he worked with him I have no doubt about that.

 

I assume all fighters are on steroids tbh.

Byrd rarely made anyone look silly.

 

I'm pretty sure the evidence would be overwhelming if anyone did. Eddie Futch worked with Frazier, Norton, Holmes and Bowe. Riddick would be an excellent candidate for the spinks experiment because he was one of the newer breed of giant with skill.

It's not just size these programmes claim to make men leaner and faster whilst being heavy. Primo was around his optimum weight anyway, but he looked awful probably because it made him so slow and uncoordinated. Perhaps a future course of drugs, diet and training program would have made him more like a Klitchko.

Steward was a technical guy. Game plans and such like. He would be as restricted working with Primo as everyone else was with that body.

Because Conditioning and diet would be down to another team of people, they would be the ones turning over a completely different specimen for Manny to work with. Manny would get more out of that guy than the Primo who beat Sharkey.
