If we are talking about the ability to throw fast combos than speed dose not nesscearyly equal power. However if we are talking the speed of a single punch from begining to impact than yes speed dose equal power.
Mass of the source (size matters) + the speed of the punch + the distance of the punch (a hook, upercut and a stright have more power than a jab) = power.
The correct technique helps as well.

Corey spinks had explosive power, so does paulie mallinagi. Nah speed doesn't always equate to power.

I'm almost ready to toss Steve Cunningham into this discussion, but Adamek isn't really a fair gauge.

People often asks why can some guys punch hard, and others can not crack an egg. I equate that to the same reason some guys can run fast, or jump high. It's just something in the physical makeup that we have not quite figured out yet. I also believe strongly in punch mechanics. I will use the left hook for example. That is a punch thats' force is generated bu the push off the back foot, rotation of the trunk, and by slinging the shoulder through the shot. I also believe the proper bend in the arm is crucial in generating power. I teach all my fighters to throw the hook with the elbow bent in a perfect right angle so that the knockles align with the wrist, the wrist with forearm, and the forearm with the elbow. This allows for more mass behind the impact. Instead of bascially just being hit with the end of the fist... you are hit with the mass of the entire lower arm.

Camacho, at 130 was one of the greatest example of saying speed kills. He was never the biggest puncher, but his speed was so superior to everyone else at the time, he got a lot of knockouts. He totally destroyed Bazooka Limon because never saw the punches coming at him. Camacho was a blur at 130. He was also aggressive at that weight. Mosely is also an aggressive fighter.

yes specially when you caught your opponent off guard it multiply the damage...
Bruce lee = Max speed traveling at short range will be devastating + caught him off guard I think it will be a big factor since no muscle constriction.

Mayweather. He was quick and had some zip in his punches.
