No. They don’t have big enough profiles in sports. They are known in boxing but not in sports overall. I’d be surprised if it got a million. If Wilder and Fury aren’t doing a million, these guys aren’t.

No, Spence is borderline popular and only boxing fans know who Crawford is. The only way it gets those numbers is if Canelo or Fury are on the undercard.

 

I think 1 million is optimistic. My guess is they explore an innovative new price point because they figure anyone who wants to see it really wants to see it but it's unlikely to really catch fire.

And of course ESPN will be ignoring it extra hard since Bud is a free agent (I think?).

No. To get 1 million buys in this internet age where everyone and their kid knows how to illegally stream a fight, you need a MASSIVE mainstream star with crossover appeal that even casuals easily recognise, like Canelo or Fury. Neither Spence nor Crawford fit that bill.

Canelo vs Plant did 800k, so Spence vs Crawford will do less. They would be lucky to match the 600k that Fury vs Wilder 3 did. For reference, Spence has never done 300k buys for a fight, and Crawford has never even done 200k buys.

 

Boxing no longer the same as the Oscar, Pacquiao, floyd era in terms of bankability. So much had happened then that created huge trauma to the casual fans. It would be a huge success for them to get half of that.
