Does Subriel Matias have a chance to become undisputed at 140?

For me it does, what's the problem sir ?

Other boxers have defence, footwork, ring IQ and movements, who deserve more to have belts, than that guy.

To each their own. I’d rather have someone that always puts on a show and gives the fans something worth watching. That’s a fighter that’s far more deserving to have more belts on their strap if you ask me.

I have no doubt that Matias can give Prograis a good tussle, win or lose.

Each of those qualities is at no lower a level than he needs it to be to remain highly effective at what he does.

His last fight was against Jose Zepeda and he gave arguably one of his best performance. Prograis vs Matias would be an excellent showdown in the future.

Yeah Prograis looked sharp against Zepeda, and also looked to have rectified a couple of the flaws that Taylor worked in their fight.

He has a good shot because nobody at 140 has a real stick and move game in their repertoire.

I don't think he beats Prograis. Even Lopez. He is easy to hit but certainly can bang.

I don't think that Lopez can handle the return fire.

Subriel Matias vs Regis Prograis and Teofimo Lopez are great fights to make right now. I also wouldn't mind seeing him against Josh Taylor since stylistically that would be fun to watch. Rolly Romero would be easily curb stomped.

Matias has a chance to become the man of 140. What a nightmare of a fighter to deal with. Cant wait to see him face Teo, Haney, Prograis, or Tank.

People say Prograis but Prograis is 5"7 with no jab or footwork who gets hit alot for a counter puncher. Prograis is almost 35. He's been ducking Matias for 4 years and Prograisexuals hoping they never meet so they can continue to make empty predictions.

In what planet Prograis who couldn't even knock out Zorilla because Prograis has no jab or footwork can be any threat ? We know Prograis is losing to Haney.

Prograis reminds me of the Crunk rap era.
In the late 90s you had Big L LOX Wu Tang Em Pun Big Pac DMX etc. Then comes Lil John watered down stripper music. Prograis has water downed the 140 division for a long time. His best win was against a midget in Zepeda and Prograis lost to Taylor who's been overrated and would quit in 5 vs Matias.

It's not even that the Matias hype is real, Prograis has been overrated for a long time. He's spent 35 years on this earth never learning how to jab or cut off the ring. His whole offense is a counter left cross that he doesn't even throw enough. Prograis doesn't throw 90 punches a round like Matias. In the clinch, Prograis wouldn't last. He has and never will face anyone as physical as Matias.

Ergashev is genuinely one of the biggest guys at 140 with a heavy pistol left cross and Matias walked through and by round 2 timed it and blocked most of his shots. Matias doesn't get credit for his squared defense. It's risky but he invites his opponents to what I call is the Matias Vortex.

The Matias Vortex is a trap where Matias hurts you then go for the hold. In the clinch Matias uses space and short distances to find gaps for uppercut to the body and head and overhand with jabs that follow. In this vortex Matias is glued to you. Matias chin is too strong so if you're not knocking him don't expect to outbox for 12 rounds because Taylor won't last and Haney don't want that smoke.

The only guy at 140 challenging Matias in a competitive fight is Teofimo. That's because Teofimo can take a hit and give it back along with his incredible boxing skills and footwork.

People won't accept Matias as the top 140 and I understand that. They're attached to Prograis. They're attached to Haney. The mayosapiens attached to Taylor. People have their attachments. But no one in this forum is putting money up against Matias so keep it moving. Fajardo is taking over.

Who is there at 140 to beat him?

    Teofimo
    Taylor
    Rougarou
    Ryan

    Teofimo has the best shot
Taylor is not the same fighter he was a few years ago
Rougarou I just can't see doing it

As crazy as it sounds Ryan might have a better shot than many others because his power and speed are very legit and he might be able to catch him with something massive he doesn't see coming early but if he doesn't, and I very much doubt he would, that fight would be over within 4-5 rounds

What about a dark horse like Sandor Martin? Is Spanish slickness the key to unlocking the answer to the Matias riddle? Maybe being super elusive and slick is the only answer other than catching him with something massive he doesn't see coming

    I can't see that either

GAR has called him out so he's a potential opponent and another zero and a soul for Matias to harvest

If Haney or Twink were really about that life and wanted to do something to actually warrant their hype they would be banging on Matias door begging for that smoke but they're female dog made
