In your opinion, does Tarver have any chance at all against Dawson?

    Current odds

    Dawson 1/7
    Tarver 5/1

Does Tarver look good at the longish odds of 5/1? It's hard to say yes after the last outing. I had my money on Tarver last time out... eeek..

Not much of a chance. Tarver's a bit of an enigma but does his best beat an improving Dawson? I don't think so. Dawson can live with whatever speed Tarver has and that's the big issue. The bookies have gone big with those odds given Tarver's stock but it's a bit of a no-brainer to me.

The only reason you'd give Tarver a shot in this rematch is if he drugs Dawson like he did Woods.

If your mate gives you evens again your on to an absolute winner.

I don't think Tarver has a chance. Stupid match-up. Dawson should be fighting the other LHW champs, not giving a rematch to a bloke he beat convincingly first time round.

dawson will win but it will be tighter than before, thats how it always goes when theres a re-match of a 1 sided fight, Mallignaggi vs N'Dou for example.

There was a rematch clause in the contrac for the first fight. It is what it is.

The surprising/slightly intriguing thing is that Tarver chose to use it.

Tarver looked like a very old man last time out. Dawson takes him easily imo mid to late round stoppage

Might be a bit closer as a fight on the whole, but I'll still take Dawson 8-4/9-3.

I personally thought Tarver still looked decent in the first fight and would have only have lost to someone at the top. Unfortuately for him Dawson was and still is amongst the best 2 Light-Heavyweights in the World and Tarver isn't the other one.

I can see why Tarver has taken up the re-match clause as this offers him the last chance to fight at this level. When he loses, which to me is the only concievable outcome, he will still be able to beat a few top 10 guys, Clinton Woods included, for another year to 18 months but after that he will become an embarrassment.

He looked to have no speed on his punches. Dawson's not the sturdiest and can be caught, but the chances of it happeneing are small.

Yeah, he does. Tarver is a smart and studious fighter who will learn from the mistakes he made in the first fight. I expect a close decision either way. I'm kind of hoping for a Tarver KO though.
