Does that May 30TH show deserve PPV?

think you also have too take into consideration that most boxing fans and practically all casual fans will be buying a ppv just 4 weeks earlier

 

Its a very good card I think I would buy

 

This is the thin end of the wedge! If this is ppv then where does it stop? I pay enough for my sky sports subscription without this added on top.

 

If brook Gavin gets added tobit then I've no problem with ppv. Some people might hate that fight but I think it will be interesting seeing brook against a very skillful boxer. Brook has never fought a skillful fighter like Gavin. I fancy brook to win. But I wanna see how brook handles gavins movement and ability to make brook miss.

 

I think the card itself is PPV, but having 2 boxing PPV's the same month will be too much for some people. Another £40 on a Sky bill would put people off buying both I guess.

 

This show is not PPV, was not announced as one. When have Sky/Matchroom announced a card then changed it to PPV a few weeks later? Would not make sense.

 

Havent seen anything to say it will be ppv hope it isnt already pay enough for sky then going to have 2 ppv prices on top of that in one month!

FRANKIE GAVIN is set for a dream shot at IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook on May 30.

Promoter Eddie Hearn – who represents both fighters – is ready to put the clash on a mammoth O2 Arena bill that also sees Brits Kevin Mitchell and Lee Selby in separate world title fights.

Gavin, 29, turned down an IBF eliminator against tough American Timothy Bradley in June as the possibility of taking on Brook in a voluntary clash became clear.

The Birmingham fighter moved into the eliminator position after Bolton’s Amir Khan turned down the chance of taking on Bradley.

Gavin was due to face South African bruiser Chris van Heerden on May 9 in his home city.

But now it seems he will be pulled from that card for a shot at Sheffield star Brook later in the month.

Talk that the fight could happen at the weekend sparked Gavin into a campaign on Twitter to put pressure on his new promoter.

And now it is edging closer to become a reality.

Hearn said: “The main thought about turning down Bradley was we can get Kell Brook now and there is a chance it could be later in the year or on May 30.

“There are a couple of voluntaries that Kell can take.

“We are now seven weeks out, Kell is back in training to fight on May 30.

“It is not done yet, but it is looking that way. Having turned down Bradley, it is now looking promising.”

Gavin remains the only English male fighter to win a gold medal at the World Amateur Championships after his Chicago success in 2007.

But he failed to make the weight for the Beijing Olympics the following year and his professional career has yet to really flourish.

Now – less than a year after his only defeat by Leonard Bundu – he is on the verge of the biggest fight and pay day of his career just months after linking up with Matchroom.

Hearn is making the May 30 bill a Sky Box Office event so wants as many big fights on as possible.

Londoner Mitchell takes on WBC lightweight champion Jorge Linares while Wales’ Lee Selby is up against IBF featherweight champion Evgeny Gradovich.

Heavyweight sensation Anthony Joshua also takes on durable American Kevin Johnson on a star-studded night.

Khan is set to fight Chris Algieri in the early hours of the following Sunday morning in New York and that could be included in the pay-per-view package.

 

It's PPV worthy in my opinion. 3 world title fights on one night and not the type were a British fighter is defending against an unworthy, unknown foreign challenger. We have 2 fighting real world champions for the titles and Brook vs Gavin to top it off.

 

It's maybe worth it as long as they don't show the Khan fight...

Hearn has said if he gets the right fights on to the bill then it will be PPV. I am quite heppy for this to be PPV, 2 good 50/50 world title fights, a shoddy all British clash for the world title, good fight for AJ, good domestic s****s

 

Peoples opinions on whether this card is PPV worthy would have been more positive if Hearn and Sky hadnt forced fed the public the Bellew Cleverly PPV.

You also have to take into account the awful Matchroom cards of late and the fact that Mayweather Pac is PPV a month earlier.
