All of the first fights(Ward/Kessler, Taylor/Abraham, Dirrel/Froch) are a white guy vs a black guy...coincidence? Ah really? I think not :verysad

    Whats your take?

Well, not in that sense. I think they've tried to create a Europe v America feel though.

There is no racism intended. Anyway, in Stage 2 Froch and Kessler are fighting each other, and they're both white.

I guess thats the politically correct way to look at it. But dont think race aint an issue. I noticed a lot of whites in America cheering for Hatton over Mayweather. So Im truly believing race trumps nationalism when it comes to boxing matches between blacks and whites, especially on the American side.

And it's just our luck that the Euros have all the proven vets on their side. :patsch

ESB is going to go "overrated American" crazy if we can't get at least one first round win.

I guess you could make that arguemen, but the reality of it was simple. The Top 168 pounders in Europe were white guys. The top 168 pounders in the US were black guys

They are angling with a USA vs. Europe marketing strategy. I seriously doubt it was intended to be a "****** vs whitey" tournament

Race is more an issue for the casual fan or people who are fans of a boxer but not boxing. I'm French Canadian and I'm rooting for Taylor and Dirrel, I just like boxing and certain boxers, race is a non-issue.

I think it may be, why not have Froch fight Kessler or a euro vs a euro and a american vs an american in the first round?

That, most likely, had to do with people not liking Mayweather and wanting to see him lose. You're right though, race has alot to do with boxing in general.
