Sellout...the aryan warriors that have passed to provide you with the standard of living you are currently enjoying would be disappointed in you.

Mayweather isn't liked by most people. People will root against him in every fight, especially when going against a guy as likable ad Hatton.

As far as the Six goes - and boxing in general, it only racial if you make it that way.

I saw it happen with the Calzaghe/Hopkins and Calzaghe/Jones fights also. Now take into consideration im talking mostly about the fly-by-night boxing fans that only tune in for big name fights. But truly I did see A LOT of Americans cheering for Calzaghe/Hatton in their fights over here.

I can see it as a racially motivated first phase but not the entire tournament.
If you think of it, that is awesome marketing. Black Vs. White and U.S.A versus Europe!

Hopkins was as likable as Mayweather is, at that time, due to his inflammatory comments.

And most competent fans should've picked Calzaghe over the shell of Jones so that has even less to do with race.

I know what your saying and your right. Although I can use the argument that Armenians of are Aryan descent Im not going to stoop that low to try to one up you. I'll just use this one instead...umm he looks white? lol

Your right, blacks in boxing do bring racism to the forefront but maybe they see a side of boxing you and me cant see bc they are on the inside and we arent. Maybe there is hidden jealousy from some black fighters towards any white fighter that has a good record and is up and coming bc they know he will appeal to the (white) public maybe more than they will. I mean guys like Hopkins and Mayweather had to wait a whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiile to get to the spots they are in now. So do you blame them for having resentment? I remember when Hopkins and Mayweather couldn't get a fight with anybody. Do you think if they were white they would have had that trouble? I don't think they would from my experience of watching boxing. White fighters can move to the top quicker if they are truly good. But that's a whole other thread. SO with that being said, in reality I think prejudice white fighters would boost boxing sales big time. I mean, its wrong but I will tell you this if I saw a white guy come on television talking about whooping on n-words and i'll kick his black ass you better believe I'm buying the ppv to see that ish..

i will say that race does over shadow nationalism. i think everyone is kinda parcial to there own race. for example here are my favorite active and non active fighters but i dont consider myself racist. wlad and vitali klitchko, andrew golota, tommy morrison, kelly pavlik, thomas adamek, calzahge, kessler, froch, abraham, vasilly jurov, jose luis castillo, antonio margiritto ,kostya tzu, mikey ward, tyson. are all among my favorites. in the list i just presented there are many different styles of fighters are most of my favorites one particular race just based upon that alone? i dont know?

Nope. I was just here sizing up the fighters involved and it just dawned on me that all the first fights of the tourney were black vs white/American vs European. I wasnt surprised bc its a smart thing to do from a financial point of view but at the same time I figured I would ask what ESB thought about it. Ya dig? :-(
