Chavez spent like 90% or more of the Lockridge fight either boxing on the backfoot or using lateral movement, the so-called "Black American style", while Lockridge came forward, fighting in the "Mexican style".

The styles thing is overblown, Taylor wasn't beating Chavez because he was showing slickness and great boxing skills. He was winning because he was OUTWORKING Chavez.

It just depends on how good the fighters are. Sometimes a more aggressive style will win, sometimes it won't.

Hagler did not have an "all out war" style.

He spent damn near most of his career as a boxer-puncher, who used the ring with educated movement, and was a terrific counterpuncher.

Depends on the fighter, and their skill set. You can't just say the Mexican style beats the black American Style or vice versa. As with any style, the style is only as good as the person employing that style.

 

When it comes to effectiveness, its the best regardless of how boring it may look

Vitali's never truly lost, and Wlad is not the same fighter he was back then.

Their fighting style is so effective that Vitali is invincible even if he's slow and in his 40's. These guys utterly dominate an entire division for a reason, because they developed a perfect style to match their physical atributes and are using it to the fullest.

 

Thats just excuses though. Im not the biggest Klit fan but you could of said the same with Lewis and a slew of other that were tall with reach for there weight class.

 

The Mexicans can Take a loss and Bounce straight back. The slick boxer when they get beat usually are losing there unbeaten record and fall apart at the seams.

When the Mexican style triumphs over the Black American style it's usually because of superior punch resistance and stamina. If all physical attributes are equal, the American style will prevail more often than not, but it's not a given.

At least, that's what I've observed over the years.
